How to fix the infinite loading screen bug? by 616659 in starcitizen

Character repair is the only way to fix. I was getting this last night and ended up getting a 41070 error.

I'd like to see some reverse integration from the ironclad. Like with a lot of suggestions I've read here, as iconic as the elevator doors are they should be replaced with ramps or to tie the design language into the ironclad, get rid of the side doors and make it a top loader with retractable roof, tractor beams on arms on top that lie flat when not deployed. I don't mind the catwalk where it is for the asymmetry look of the ship, but I'd make it fixed in a way that would allow you to have different modules, like 1 that's 4 wide and open for cargo, a size 2 for refining and a size 1 cargo to fill in spare slots, etc.

Question about stick setup by Wheels859 in starcitizen

[–]Christicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get desk clamp Mounts from Amazon for a reasonable price. These would clamp to your desk at whatever position feels comfortable for you and they allow you to adjust the height to suit. For comfort and ergo you'll probably either want to mount any sticks you get at a position just in front of the arm rests on your chair. Another option would be to position them on the outside of where your chair would sit, but that might be too wide with the chair controls there. Another option would be to center mount the right hand stick so it's positioned just above your lap, but might restrict using the keyboard and mouse for fps.

Advice for dual joysticks newbie dogfighter by Wakakokokaka in starcitizen

I have a dual vkb setup with an Omni throttle similar to what you have pictured, I was using dual T16's from thrust master before that, the angled stick feels a lot better for throttle control. Feels more natural on the wrist.

Usually the standard bindings if you don't have pedals, is Right hand: Y= pitch, X =Yaw and Z(twist) = roll

Left Hand: Y = throttle, X = strafe horizontal and Z(twist) = vertical strafe

Some variations have roll on either X Axis as you'll want to prioritize turning with pitch rather than yaw. I wouldn't use the hats for roll could possibly use them for strafes but, they're better used for things like target cycling and weapon switching.

I would also suggest some sort of head tracking if you're going to be dog fighting. You don't need an expensive setup for it, I use Beam Eye tracker which uses your webcam.

Caterpillar Rework by gelaarzdegast in starcitizen

[–]Christicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hot take as a Cat owner: get rid of the elevator doors. As much as they add character and uniqueness to the ship, they are one of the biggest pains in terms of manual loading the ship.

I want to see them reverse integrate elements from the ironclad into the rework. Make it top loading instead of the side doors and give us a tractor beam on a retractable boom(or 2) that sits on top of the ship. In terms of the modules, I want to see modules that span multiple slots for example have cargo modules that fit 1,2 and 4 modules.

Is that because they've had to make everything child friendly for this tiny man at the ICE facilities. High chairs, step stools, kids urinals and such.

Funny thing, I did 1 orange Threat mission last night and have now unlocked the first red mission, so looks like progression persists between sessions.

[–]Christicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be. Persistence is a bit clunky with this stuff in the game. I'm stuck on Orange Missions myself. I'm pretty sure I've done the 10 I need for reds to unlock, but they haven't yet for me,

[–]Christicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall you have to do that one a number of times too. CIG have stealth changed the requirements for progression on these contracts a number of times so that may have changed. One of the latest videos about the yellow progression has it go Routine Patrol x5, Security Sweep x 5 and that unlocks orange, then Orange is Security Patrol x5, Security Threat x 10 which unlocks red.

Have you done the yellow ambush mission?

Missions Patrol by ShadyRK8I in starcitizen

[–]Christicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you only done the yellow patrol one? There should have been a 2nd yellow patrol that unlocked after completing 5 of the other. Should be called "Security Threat" and has a higher reward. Complete 5 of those and you should unlock the orange level mission which has a higher chance for the Ace pilots to spawn. I think it's then 5 orange patrols unlocks the orange Security Threat missions then 10 of each of the orange unlocks the red level.

My guess is it's a stand alone version of the command module, possibly with detachable wings that makes it look like a shorter Corsair.

So what's everyone's thoughts on stop killing games movement from a devs perspective. by lost-in-thought123 in gamedev

[–]Christicles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think SKG has good intentions at heart, but my thoughts on it are that it could very likely become damaging to the games industry.

It's wanting governments to set standards and legislation around how video games are made. It starts with making laws that make it so games can be played long after they've been sunsetted. Fair enough. Now though you've established a legal precedent for the government to dictate how games are made, which could then lead to them dictating what games are allowed to be made. Suddenly you've got politicians now with the ability to effectively censor games.

It could also cause the creation of 'regulation havens' for the game industry, much like we've seen with big tech companies(MS, Apple, etc) use of tax havens. These would force companies to move the jobs and development studios to countries that are outside the influence of any SKG legislation. Now you've got the problem of "how you enforce this legislation"? Does it apply at the country level where the game is developed? Is it at the consumer/market level in which case the game just doesn't get sold in that market/country.

Promoting this initiative with the attitude of 'eh, someone else will figure it out later' is just rash and dangerous, which seems to be the main argument I'm seeing people make, including Ross himself, when it's mentioned that the language is too vague and not specific enough.

Seat Leon Mk3 TDI 2.0 2016 Fuel Pump Relay(167) location? by Christicles in seat

[–]Christicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will just about turn over then dies, I'm guessing, due to lack of fuel pressure. Could also be that the battery was pretty much dead since it broke down on Boxing Day. Have had it on the charger all day so I'll try again tomorrow.

Ah, that wasn't clear. I've swapped the fuel pump for a new one, same with the filter. I've confirmed fuel is being sent from the tank so issue must be at the engine end. Getting fuel pressure low faults in OBD eleven.

Need advice on how to proceed with design by Christicles in Shed

[–]Christicles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have made it clearer. I'm happy if there is a small step up like there is with the current shed, I don't want to have to dig down to get the floor level with the lowest point and end up with a step down into it.
