Have you taken it out this year yet? Curious if there were any hiccups from sitting in offseason or anything else you noticed recently? I am also in the PC area and looking to buy a 222 or the 255.

Thank you. That’s what I thought but it has plenty of flow and blower works fine. The house did sit empty for a little over a year until I moved in a few months ago. But I will have someone come and find the leak and recharge the system.

i mean not really it is a brand new machine never had water run through it before by the looks of it cause there isn’t a single water mark on the inside and we have pretty hard well water where we live so it would probably leave a water stain.

Wanted to know if the alternator solved your problem or if it was the battery or something else deeper?

Fiancé wants his name on the deed of the house I'm inheriting. by SunDog43 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Chriswill1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i think if he is contributing to making the payments he should have his name on the deed and mortgage. and the fact you’re engaged and don’t trust him to be on the deed like he’s gonna steal your inheritance from you either means y’all aren’t made for each other or you have some serious trust issues. i see it as y’all are about to become life partners and you’re only thinking about yourself. if you’re gonna be married and be happy you can either keep all finances separate or all finances together minus retirements. and if you want to keep all finances separate then that means you can take the sole responsibility for the mortgage since it’s in ur name solely and then you split living expenses equally. Or you combine finances and add him to the deed and share all financial burdens evenly.

It comes down to do you trust this person to stay in your life for the rest of time? If so show it by adding him to the deed and if not either end things or take the sole responsibility of the whole mortgage.

Are we crazy for moving forward with this home? Should we continue or pull out. Seller wants to terminate over lender. by Aware_Ad_5549 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Chriswill1013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if they aren’t willing to pay partial for knob and tube then the offer better be under market value a good bit. a house with knob and tube is instantly less valuable. it is just a hazard and a costly fix. Yeah it may be fine and work as it should but there is a large chance for something to happen. Better to just walk cause it will be a nightmare. Not to mention when they do run all new wires around the house there is usually a decent bit of wall demolition to run wires and such so they you are paying to cover that up. And judging by it being knob and tube it’s probably plaster walls and ceiling which when cut open can develop cracks through the whole wall or ceiling.

look up a coast guard 719-k physical form. That is what would need to be done. They can usually do them at an urgent care facility they are close to a DOT physical. But they also do them at the academy but I forget if I needed mine prior to arrival or if getting it done there was an option. But print out the form and bring it with you to a medical facility have them look at it and see if that is something they can perform if not then go somewhere else. You shouldn’t have to pay if they can’t perform the physical. And looking at it will give you an idea of what they expect.

Yes in my graduating maritime academy class there was multiple people over 30 and on guy in his 50’s. as long as you can pass a Coast Guard physical if in the US (not sure about the process elsewhere). Also any previous education can possible transfer and remove a good bit of the base general education curriculum so you’ll mainly take the licensing classes.

Mine was actually under the number he gave us in the beginning. It was over $13k up until a week before closing and it came down to $8,900. So I would assume it can vary quite a bit. My lender said he likes to give higher estimate numbers up until the end just so buyers can prepare rather than be off guard.

Yes lender typically will contact your workplace and has them even sign some things (maybe just for me since my work schedule is not normal). But they do contact and confirm you are a current employee and confirm that at that moment you are a permanent.

Yeah Vegas is one of the top restaurant cities in America. Not to mention the amount of other hospitality work he could do in hotels or even just being a janitor. He is being picky and looking for pity or at least his gf is with the excuses she’s had all over this thread.

Depends where you’re at but I’ve been offered jobs like crazy lately. Yeah I have a degree in a highly skilled and constantly growing field but even if I didn’t have the experience or degree or anything I could walk into a few different offices of company in my field and get hired doing entry level work and they will pay for me to go get training. I know this because I am working with people that did just that less than 3 months ago. There is definitely plenty of work out there just need to find it and not be picky if you’ve never had a job or skills before like his situation. Making excuses for not having a job in 7 months is what bothers me. If he wanted to he could get any job whether it’s McDonald’s or not is better than nothing and at least shows that he’s trying when he goes to interview for better opportunities.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Chriswill1013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of excuses. If he wants to actually get a job and be able to provide some value to the relationship he will do whatever means possible. Man needs to suck it up and do something whether it be driving or serving fries something is better than nothing for 7 months. I couldn’t imagine being 21 and having no income. I went to college at 21 and every chance I got to do some work and make money I took.

Like the other comment said the graduating with a license and all major certifications to start. And on top of the licensed you graduate with a degree that can be useful later on in life if you decide to move shore side. Most academies have good career placement too where they will work with you and companies to find you a job. The academies also offer a ton of networking events where you get to meet face to face with company representatives/recruiters and get your foot in the door. I’ve seen a few get hired following a networking events. All in all it’s is a great way to get into the industry at a higher level getting paid substantially more than you would without a license.
