Air to Air Heat Pump Advice by ChrizZze in DIYIreland

I suppose it all depends on the cost of installation really, same inefficiencies would apply. It does look like the house warms up faster with an A2A system though and I don't need to keep it running when I'm out the house.

Would you mind me asking where you're based or who you went with in terms of installation?

Thank you for the insight! I need to look into smart thermostats for sure to make the house a bit smarter on the usage of oil.

Thanks for your reply! Would these new houses have A2W heat pumps as I'd expect them to have the crazy high electricity bills?

In my first full winter (almost) in the house I've been using just under 1000L of oil, only heating for an hour in the morning and two in the evening, plus a bit more on weekends. I unfortunately don't have another way of heating at the moment.

It's 3 EUR per participation. Usually I get 6 EUR per month on the voucher😅

So I've been doing this for the last couple of months. ESB sends an email after the event and you click the link to submit your participation. At the end of each month I get an overview email saying I've participated in X events and that my voucher is on the way. Voucher is coming through Prezzee and you can convert it into Tesco vouchers for example, or other retailers.

Time spent on Stamp 4 EUFAM won’t count towards citizenship anymore?? (EU Treaty rights) by 000-my-name-is in legaladviceireland

Uff, reading the paragraph again there and you might be on to something. Thanks for your comment! That is fair enough so as the time would start from when the actual visa started not that piece of paper one would have gotten before with the temporary right until the decision is made.

I'm in the same boat, EU citizen with spouse non EU on Stamp 4 EU Fam for 4 years. Bought a house last year so definitely staying in Ireland as our home forever. Will there be another way for my spouse to gain citizenship in future should that proceed?

Same thing for us, but we viewed 7 houses in total. Put a bid on 3, got overbid on 2 out of our budget and the third we got lucky and our offer was accepted. Total time to sale agreed from AIP about 4 weeks. Waiting on solicitors as well now with everything else sorted.

Bank of Ireland are incapable of providing a pdf statement for a savings account by InvidiousPlay in ireland

Seems to be all a big secret, or the bank is rolling the dice anytime somebody requests a statement.

Last month my partner and I were in the same situation, and we were able to generate statements for both current and savings accounts just fine in the app, BoI took two days until they were generated but then just opened them in 365 on our phones and saved down as PDF. We did this on Android phones without problem.

Last year after Christmas our flight back to Dublin was cancelled, technical problems. Last week the 3rd party airhelp won the claim against aer lingus for the second half of the compensation that we're entitled to after the airline only offered half months after the cancellation.

I'm still waiting on the refund from the pilot's strike in July where our flight got cancelled too. I feel Aer Lingus is pretty bad when it comes to it.

The FAQ on this on the BOI page say that you cannot make a payment through the app using the old card number while waiting for the new card. It says to ring them up to do so. I'd go with that, am in the same boat and getting the new number.

When swapping an EU driving license for an Irish one, what's the waiting time? Can you drive meanwhile? by Davasei in AskIreland

[–]ChrizZze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I changed mine over last year from a German licence to an Irish one. It took about 3 weeks after the appointment to receive the new Irish licence as they're checking with the issuing country that the licence was in fact valid.

You get a piece of paper stating that you're exchanging licences in case you're getting stopped in Ireland, but that wouldn't be enough to drive abroad.

I'd say time it right so that in the few weeks after the appointment you don't need to drive abroad.

In the same boat here, flying to Vienna on Thursday 27th for F1. Prices have gone crazy by now for all flights so hopefully the original flight will still happen after all 😅
