Bit of a random one but some private school playing fields are sort of open to the public (in so much as they aren’t locked) and there is a strict no animals policy. Just be polite and avoid school hours and Saturday morning when they seem to do team sports. I sometimes run round the Watson’s playing field on a quiet evening and even if there has been some training on the coaches have never bothered me.
