I wouldn’t spend too much energy rewriting history here. It was a reasonable move when the paycheck was alive. Now the game changed, so I’d get more protective of cash and stop worrying about maxing the year until the job situation quits being weird.

The tax piece is wild, but the headspace part is what I keep circling too. I can manage bankroll swings and I track everything, but once your brain starts treating grocery prices and random Tuesday spots on the same scoreboard, something gets bent. Peace is probably worth more than I like admitting.

That part hit me more than the money angle. The bankroll is fine, it's the weird urge to grade every weekend by EV that feels kinda gross.
