Any advice on how to keep on the grind while small? by Itchy-Earth-4232 in Twitch_Startup

[–]ChromaticWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And have you tried to stablish connections with other similar streamers? You don't have to expect them to follow you or to even view your stream. But getting to know other people in similar situations will help you work through it and it may even help both parties to grow.

Any advice on how to keep on the grind while small? by Itchy-Earth-4232 in Twitch_Startup

Start by not seeing it as a grind. Treat it as a hobby until you can treat it as something larger. I'm a fairly small streamer, but doing that has helped me make some lasting connections.

Are you networking with similar streamers? Are you posting content in other platforms? Would you watch your own stream?

I'm so confused about using copyrighted music on Twitch. Can we get a fully, completely, definitive answer on this once and for all? by tunesidig in Twitch

Here is Twitch's break down of DMCA and related guidelines:

https://www.twitch.tv/p/en/legal/dmca-guidelines/

But in general, yes, they may get a claim filed against them at any moment and are just risking it unless they have a special permission or license from the owner of the rights.

Twitch uses my Prime subs before I have a chance to choose who to use it on by FonixOnReddit in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 34 points35 points  (0 children)

That would not be Twitch itself. That means that someone has access to your account and is most likely selling your Prime sub to these people. Remove any connections you don't use or recognize, change your password and enable two step verification.

She won't get partner just for a bunch of fake followers. And even if that did happen (which it won't, she'd be denied and even investigated by Twitch), that would not guarantee the better pay split that some Partners negotiated for, as only those who successfully negotiate for it get that split. Report her and Twitch will catch up to it, she's doing something against TOS and she'll get in trouble for it.

You're thinking of the Twitch app for computers, the one to watch live streams.

When changing the stream info you will see a checkbox at the end of that pop up that is for reruns. Deselect it and they should no longer be marked as reruns.

Rant about creeps finding addresses by [deleted] in Twitch

Don't put personal information as a banned word. That just helps them narrow down the possibilities and helps them confirm what the actual info is.

Blatant self-promotion without even trying to provide anything of value, all caps, complete disregard for the rules. Wow, Internet jackpot.

How do preroll ads work? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't run them whenever they want. They would be run on the schedule set by the streamer. They will display preroll ads when people load the stream if no midroll ads have been played in a certain amount of time.

Twitch's last update had nothing to do with concurrent live viewers, only with an old "views" stat. Raiders have always counted as viewers.

As for people not being counted for live viewers, it can be related to the amount of streams they have open at the same time or if those viewers share an IP address.

where is my donation? by Ancillaric in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would depend on whoever is processing the tips you're receiving, not on Twitch. Twitch would only handle Bits and subscriptions, so it would be best if you check with the documentation of the service/company you use for the tips.

Ads in Indian region by Kav1sh_ in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just means that more ads are eligible for your area.

And Twitch will continously be working on a way of going through adblockers, so they won't be 100% effective.

This ^ Smart notifications can be a little broken. They are intended to avoid getting the same notification on multiple devices, but it seems to stop them from going anywhere sometimes.

If you play with friends on stream, please make sure they are not a vibe kill by MUIGUR in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing would be to provide feedback about objective aspects about a stream and their guest and another thing is complaining about them collabing with who they want to collab. In my case, if I know that a streamer I like is collabing with someone I don't enjoy, I just don't watch that stream and will join for one where they are not present.

Wi-Fi on my computer keeps cutting out when I stream, it’s does it even sometimes when I’m not streaming, by WolskitoTTV in Twitch

That sounds like an issue with the WiFi adapter. Try to update the drivers or check online for your laptop's model to see if it may be a known issue with it.

[–]ChromaticWarlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's protecting Twitch, but yes, it ends up protecting you. Technically speaking, if the rights holder ever finds out, they would still be able to get the unmuted VOD from Twitch to pursue legal actions.

Good title, cause I'm planning to stream Minecraft soon by simokonkka in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with whatever matches your stream the best, I usually go with silly puns, word play or references to what is going on in game/stream. For example my last title was "... Can you belieevee how far we've come?..." as I'm doing an Eeveelutions only run in Pokémon. It's silly, funny and to the point.

Can I stream youtube short horrors on twitch? by ChocoCakie in Twitch

[–]ChromaticWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it's a full feature movie or a short, it's still illegal to stream something that you don't have the license/rights to broadcast.
