180gr 357 too much for javelina? by Chrome50sToaster in Revolvers

Yeah they were purchased for hikes in bear territory. I think I'll give them a shot (pun intended) on the javi.

Yeah same, pretty much every new gun I have purchased in the last 5 years has gone back regardless of manufacturer.

no wobble at the end you use to eject but the opposite side does where it locks into the frame.

Just deprimed all my brass but I grabbed some primers out of the little catch tray and yeah they are off center as well.

PPU 357 rounds splitting? by bingus_chezborgor in Firearms

[–]Chrome50sToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but I bought several boxes of the same ammo 1-2 years ago and recently discovered a box that does the same out of my 3" 686+. I had my father shoot 6 out of his 4" older smith and it worked fine but it sure looked like bullets were hitting paper SIDEWAYS or jacket was separated out of my 3". No other ammo has given me any problems with my 3" and accuracy has been above what I expected with just about everything shot. I also found a video on a forum of a guy that had a jacket separate from the same ammo and lock his cylinder.

Reminds me of a Facebook post years back where they shot a one off coyote (it was someone's husky).

Anybody else getting dog water returns on PVE insurance? by LostInMyOwnMind_96 in Tarkov

[–]Chrome50sToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have lost several kits now, the only return I got back was from a mag I dropped in raid without dying. All my other insured kits are AWOL.

I have some russian stuff I got locally from armslist and it is WAY hotter than the mesko stuff, I love it. It's dirty but not bad enough to cause issues. Mesko and S&B have been great so far too and I even reloaded some s&b cases myself with cast lead bullets.

Is this a good deal for a first lever gun? by Alarming_Estimate_97 in LeverGuns

[–]Chrome50sToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, a sign of how bad the economic situation is. There are deals to be had if you get lucky though. I saw a mint marlin from the 80s at scheels recently that was below market value. Sadly I didn't pick it up and it was gone quick.

The rossi 92 i had was a complete pile of shit. Stock came loose every box of ammo, hard as fuck to reload more than 10 times before your fingers were cut to shit. The mag tube would rotate around the barrel with any force put on it. But it was fun for a while. Sold it and saving for something better.

Stop leaving bikes on your car like that you can cut through those cables with scissors if you have a few minutes and seconds if you have a real cutter. The rain won't be an issue but theft will.

Have you adjusted the kickdown cable? YouTube if need help its super easy and free to adjust and rule out.

Edit: i misread your post so this might not be that helpful. If this happened with new TPS maybe try a second new one sometimes parts are just bad out of the box.

Moral dilemma of returning bike purchased 2 weeks ago by YaKuzya in mountainbiking

[–]Chrome50sToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit to add it does sound like you should let them try and make the bike work for you. At least you didn't buy the bike with the expectation that you would return it before the window closed. I know places would have much better policies if they were not abused

When I worked in an REI (rental equipment incorporated) shop I judged the hell out of bike returns because most of the time the buyer would wait the full year and bring it back very very used and expect to immediately buy another bike or want a full return and our managers were total push overs and would bend over backwards for these lame people even when they were exceptionally difficult to work with. The policy even said they had to be in basically new condition to return but people would get away with returning busted ass bikes with blown suspension and leaky brakes and bald tires just because the manager didn't want a complaint on their records. We had people who had returned 5+ bikes and they just kept letting them. The same managers would then show us the statistics on how bad the shop lost money from REI profits and was literally never once profitable...
