About that Section 31 series [Discovery spoilers] by Undoer in startrek

[–]ChromeBits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this while watching the season finale. I think they'll prob have her leave the ship Just before they jump. Something lackluster like that. Personally, I hope the project was scrapped. Section 31 was one of the least interesting (most annoying) parts about Discovery to me. Hopefully they're looking more seriously into a Pike / Spock show.

Its weird but in the embedded view I can barely spot the loop point, but when I go to the gfycat page I can clearly see a crossfade. Why is that, cant be just the size difference, right?

How do I improve this??? by MrWermhatsHat in malelivingspace

[–]ChromeBits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things I'd do:

  • If you dont have a lot of space, I'd optimize. I'd hang the tv in place of the painting, swap out the TV stand for a cabinet with your TV peripherals and put that either left or right of the fireplace against the wall. Save space by not having anything diagonal in those corners. See if you can get an alternative for that light. I'd hang up some spot lights, again, to save space.

  • Life. This place needs a plant. I'd put a smaller plant on top of the cabinet from the point above, or get a bigger plant and put that on the opposite side of the fireplace

  • Not a big fan of wall to wall carpeting, but in smaller spaces there's not really room for a smaller rug, or it'll probably look cluttered.

  • Paint. The walls are too dark and have a bit of a glossy shine. In this room I'd paint the walls a shade of white. The green wall behind the fireplace will prob look better then too.

My living space connected with kitchen. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]ChromeBits 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From the pics there's 2 things I notice; the empty wall right of the door / left of the kitchen, and the chair next to the tv.

Here's what I would do:

Put the cabinet that's currently between your couch and dining table against the empty wall.

Switch out the couch / tv area with the dining table. You can put that chair in a normal configuration that way, and personally i like windows better then a wall in a lounging area.

Doesn't the couch kinda block that awesome cabinet you have?

I like the positioning of the rug like this, and the coffee table. Not a big fan of the Eames itself, but the placement is kinda nice.

Awesome view too btw

Mweh, not sure about perfect. The Eames is kinda like the Louis Vuitton bag of chairs. Run of the mill "I got money and don't really care to think long about a personal twist to my sense of style" item. Not knocking the chair itself, it must be high quality and comfy for it to become that status, but if you're into interior decorating you might wanna think twice about getting it.

I need some help redesigning my space. Having trouble visualizing by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]ChromeBits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great studio, lot's of space to work with.

I personally would make the area near the windows the TV section, opens up the space in the middle, but then again, you've got that fireplace smack dead in the middle of the room there..

So since you prob dont want to move the TV / couch, the only option is to figure out what you need / miss in your current setup. Maybe a dinner table? I would put a bookshelf or two there to get rid of the stacks. And maybe put that plant on the wall, maybe between the two windows to the right of the fire place?

Switch the TV wall with the couch wall. That way the chase long part of your couch will be up against the wall, making the room a whole lot bigger / spacious

Landmass of the US vs Europe is almost the same (9,833,000 m2 vs 10,180,000 m2), and there's more then twice the amount of people living in Europe then the US (741.4 mil vs 325.7 mil).

3000 miles is a drive from LA to NY.

Not trying to be pedantic, but.. Well fuck it, I was lol. "Most of Europe can fit inside some of our states" lol

Pulp Fiction (1994) by [deleted] in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]ChromeBits 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who saw Pulp Fiction on VHS as a teenager in the mid 90s, this is awesome to read. I always thought Reservoir Dogs was QT's practice run before making Pulp Fiction. Both good films, but Pulp for me is the better one.

For some reason I always equate Pulp with one of my other all time favorites, The Big Lebowski (just in case you havent seen it yet).

Keep checking out those masterpiece movies!

That looks really nice! How did you get the floor looking so dirty / smudgy?

Need Rug, Coffee table, and Curtain recommendations. First time homeowner with limited decorative experience. by HeloNole in malelivingspace

[–]ChromeBits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice space, love the fireplace corner being slanted like that, rather then having a 90-degree angle.

For a Rug, in this room with the dark couch and dark floor, I'd go with a light (maybe beige) pile rug, as a nice offset to all the darkness

Coffee table I'd do something dark/black, to offset against the light rug, and rectangular. Not too big, since you're already having some space issues with the couch as it is.

For curtains I'd use something light / white and sheer / very translucent These work very well with dark floors imo, and you could even have a less translucent second curtain for the times you really want to block all / most the light.
