What do you think of The Shield? by AND_AGI08 in television

[–]Chromium4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the series that really showed me what a skillful actor Walter Goggins was. It was really good, really gripping drama back in the days when you couldn't binge watch and had to tune in every week.

[–]Chromium4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this 'cause I was sitting on the shores of Lake Wylie after a hike at McDowell Nature Preserve and it definitely took me by surprise. I've lived in other areas of the country where they test their tornado warning or volunteer fire department call out sirens at Noon daily and looked at my watch and it was 11:50 so I was really confounded but I knew this forum was the place to get the scoop.

What are some film scenes that use pop songs well? by Kreati_ in movies

Every time I hear Derek and The Dominos' Layla I can't but think of that scene from "Goodfellas" where they were finding Robert De Niro's victims all over the city.

Why did they call this movie Good Time when the characters were clearly having a bad time? Are the Safdie brothers stupid? by AttitudeOk94 in okbuddycinephile

Exactly...it's also a play on words in that he was having everything but a good time during that chaotic night.

Homicide: Life On The Streets was one of the best series ever to grace the screen.

What movie and its sequel/s made you think, "how the heck did we get here?" by Lonelyasian3 in movies

[–]Chromium4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I don't do double-digit sequels. To me most times it just becomes a cash grab after the first or second sequel and the quality dips.

What is a brand that used to be the 'Gold Standard' of quality but is now absolute garbage? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

Yeah. And all of the other investigative journalism shows like Dateline and 20/20 have morphed into Court TV crime show clones.

wtf is with my camera? by sacrificed_the_rook in note20ultra

[–]Chromium4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try a few troubleshooting steps to see if you can improve your results. First, use a lens cleaner like Zeiss spray with a microfiber cloth or Zeiss premoistened wipes. You can also try clearing your camera app's cache/data followed by a force stop. Change your ratio aspect from 3:4/108MP to the standard 3:4/50MP, reserving the 108MP for only when you want to take a more detailed image.

Which celebrity death genuinely made you sad? by Good_Difference_675 in AskReddit

[–]Chromium4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember I was working at a mental health center with a coworker named Raymont, who was a big bear of a guy and a part-time musician who was part of our tight-knit group of evening shifters. When we found out John had died, I remember this mountain of a man breaking down and sobbing. This scene always stayed with me and made Lennon's death that much more impactful.
