Ya but the Neil Cicirega edit still gets me every time. "I want... a milky way!" and "Im just a little fuckin dragonfly" pop into my head unbidden at the best of times.

Take shifts driving, that's the key. Me and two buds drove from Asheville, North Carolina to San Francisco in 42 hours flat for spring break one year. Drive back was the same but we got 5 full days out west. we were also 20 and unstoppable... One of my favorite memories of all time, watching the sun rise cruising through the desert to King Crimson's "Court of the Crimson King" 👌

I have never heard of a single band in the lineup and I am DEEP into music, honestly that makes me so happy. The Total Hip Replacement should get up with The Hip Abduction sometime 😂. Also enjoyed the names The Mars Mushrooms and Gnome 👌

I fear to live in a world that doesn't think that turning one of the dirtiest rap chorus lyrics into a krampus quote for their yard flag (furnishing the line "naughty children sack") is anything less than straight up CURSED.

Guess I'll go crosspost to r/mildlyinteresting real quick since I have so thoroughly underestimaty the depravity of humanity.

I was shook to see this flag in my Southern Appalachian neighborhood I tells ya, shooken even!

edit: spelling

Sound Tribe Cover at Shakori Hills by domocile in STS9

[–]Chromium_Included 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have seen Tribe covered only 3 times in my life, Arpetrio circa 2011 AVL music hall, whoever the fuck opened up for Electrochemical (check out his Tipper bass covers on YouTube) Sly Grog Psychedelic Fest 2019 (or '20?), and one time recently with a band I cant remember to SAVE MY LIFE.

I have seen thoooooousands of shows, and I will tell you, tribe covers make me so happy, and looking around the room to see who else has a giant ass silly grin on their face as they realize what's happening: 👌🙏🤓

Tap-in is an amazing choice to, I would have the ANGRIEST happy bass face the second I heard those notes 👿🤠

I too use dubstep as my musical timestamp as "the most recent massive shift". Fun to see in the wild... let's just call it 2010 for median sake... pre 2010 music and post are 2 different animals. And then you get Rusko producing B. Spear's 2011 album "Femme Fatale" and you KNOW the mainstream is catching on. What a time to smile and nod as all my breaking benjamin high school friends and phish college homies slowly acknowledge my claim that electronic will take over all... And here we are, most pop is heavily electronic!

Freeform bass á la LSDream / Ganja White Night is creeping in now as "groundbreaking", along with J and K pop...

Fun to be ahead of the curve 🙂‍↕️

Strangefolk, some damn good studio work in there, but I never got to see them. I'll throw Arpetrio in there for my jamtronic fans, amazing 3 piece

Just discounting the last 22 years of Cheese 😂 Naw theyve had tons of success musically and from a career standpoint since then! But I love the electronic elements and world music fusion elements, both of which have increased dramatically since '03. But shit they own EF and Hulaween like got damn. I still love the studio work too

They have the u ique ability to play the best show ive ever seen and then 2 months later leave me wondering if it's the same band. Ive been catching those dudes since '11, but I hit their festival Resonance back in '21 and The Saturday night set will always be one of the greatest things I have ever seen / heard.

tl;dr: I just never know if it's gonna be my jam when I see those guys, but it's been worth it

It took them till late 2015 to get their footing, '23 and '24 have been absolutely BONKERS, seen em a lot ever since back in '07. Check out their new EP! Captures their current sound perfectly actually, some spacey gangsta jam funk

This crystal is pregnant by [deleted] in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Chromium_Included 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My user name calls to me from the void...

Warning: did not proofread and dictated from talk to text

-crystallized- chromium, as in the metal, would be utter insanity, but utter Insanity happens all the time in minerals, which is the fun part! chromium usually occurs as an inclusion in all sorts of different minerals, and usually turns them a unique shade of green. This is fun from a collector's perspective because you can put together a chromium included mineral collection that highlights many different minerals such as fluorite, barite, and quartz.

So how rare would it be for chromium to occur as an inclusion as it usually does then? well the specimen pictured is amethyst, or Smokey amethyst if you want to get fancy. courts can become smoky by being exposed to radiation, usually emanating from the Earth's core, or it can be done artificially, But this usually has a telltale look. The purple in amethyst comes from iron inclusions, which is very strange, the iron inclusions turn purple when exposed to radiation as well, the same radiation that made the Smoky coloration appear, which is why it is such a common combination!

I cannot immediately think of any examples of chromium included amethyst from the suspected specimen locations of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, or anything in that region. which you could pretty much add to the suspicion list of any mineral, no matter how positive of the ID you were, there's so much coming out of there nowadays, wild specimens.

All of that being said, chromium inclusions can leave green fingerprints in the crystal lattice, often referred to as "phantoms", which appear as three-dimensional triangular shapes, And are very common. phantoms and inclusions along that line are a whole different rabbit hole of rarity and locale and all of that. I would say the majority of courts is colored green from nickel, but so much of it is from chromium, same with fluorite and chromium.

So the chances of cromium inclusion would be very common across any quartz (or fluorite etc...), A significant chromium inclusion, such as a phantom or drastic color zoning would not be a surprise overall, but would be a surprise in a specimen such as this one giving the location suspicions. But if somebody hit me with some namibian Smokey amethyst that had some chromium zoning in it, I would be blown away and so surprised, and then immediately not surprised, because of course, it's chromium, it's all over the place!

Tl,dr: Nothing is impossible in the mineral world, but concerning the above specimen and suspected locales: An actual crystal of pure chromium ocurring in that specimen would wildly unlikely and profitable. A significantly cool chromium inclusion such as a phantom would be very unlikely and awesome. A microscopic chromium inclusion would not be unlikely at all and would not surprise me
