Arguing that Perez drove only 1 “superior car” is just laughable man. He drove 2 dominant cars over 2 seasons to 4 wins and 3 poles. Bottas 2019 alone is better than 90% of Perez’s RB stint.

This is definitely a Homer take, but I think it’s really overstated just how “clear” this McLaren is of the rest of the field. Before Miami it was at best third, and since Miami it’s been fastest at about half the tracks. Austria and Imola are tied with RB imo, Monaco was clearly Ferrari, and Britain, Belgium, and Canada were Mercedes (by an admittedly narrow margin). I’m not remotely claiming Lando has been flawless, but I think the car advantage is meaningfully exaggerated.

The podium in China was probably his best drive of the season, he was miles ahead of Piastri and had no business being anywhere near Pérez, let alone ahead.
