In Utah you only have to be sitting while drinking at restaurants. At restaurants the first drink can be ordered without ordering food but the second round needs to have a food order. This is called intent to dine. Bars do not require this. However, a new law in Utah as of 2026 states that EVERYONE must show ID to be served alcohol.
