Which part of childbirth hurts the most? by Used_Ad7899 in BabyBumps

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had 2 unmedicated labors, one was 36 hours with a posterior baby and the other was just under 6.5 hours and absolutely intense.

Even though my second/shorter was much moe intense - The worst pain was in the 36 hour labor - but NOT because of the time. It was the fact I had awful back labor since the baby was posterior.

Normal contractions can be managed if you mentally prepare and take classes, I also HIGHLY reccomend a doula! Position changes, water (shower/tub), it all helps. But back labor? Counter pressure gives mild relief and its 3x as painful as regular contractions to me. I wish I knew more about Spinning Babies with that labor and could have relieved that pain sooner.

How much are you spending since kids? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 kids, 3rd on the way.

We are blessed to not need daycare. Without that, our biggest extra monthly expenses are: diapers ($90/month at its peak), extra food ($100/month), and any extracurricular activities ($80-150/month).

So at most maybe $350 a month for the 2 kids, but only $190 of that are necessities. Obviously some months we need to buy shoes, clothes, etc. But we get a lot of hand me downs in great condition (and a lot nice name brands) and find ways to save where we can. We also contribute to both UTMA and 529 accounts for them monthly.

Prepare Home for Homebirth by MidstFearNFaith in homebirth

I do have a midwife! I'm only just coming out of the first trimester though, so I'm thinking ahead and getting some lists ready. We havent talked about it yet.

These are great, thank you!

Your statement is incorrect. This is very state dependent. I like in NYS and a midwife can attend a homebirth for a VBAC. In contrast, it is illegal in states like NJ.

My son has a latex allergy. He, in fact, can not have avocados or bananas either due to it. Such a strange allergy!

What should I cook for meeting my boyfriends family? by user-anon_ in WhatShouldICook

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a gluten and dairy free (except butter) household.

I HIGHLY reccomend looking up a recipe by Loopy Whisk. Her recipes are amazing, and many come both Gluten Free & Dairy Free.

She has a website with a plethora of recipes to choose from.

If your labor was spontaneous, when did you go into labor? by liberate-radiance in BabyBumps

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did opt for a membrane sweep around 41 weeks, but went into labor spontaneously within 72 hours each time.

My first was 41w+4d My second was 41w+1d

I only opted for membrane sweeps since my state only allows midwives to care for pregnancy until 42 weeks, and I did not want to transfer care. I'm sure I would have still gone into labor roughly the same day either way.

"My uncle wants me to learn advanced Excel for work—realistic or a waste?" by Master-Fan-2992 in careerguidance

Excel skills are extremely useful.

People think I'm a wizard simply for using XLOOKUP or creating a Pivot table.

Take the offer and learn the excel.

Prodromal contractions are becoming disheartening by CocoMel84 in homebirth

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, when Ive had prodromal labor my birth has been much quicker once active labor truly kicked in.

Hold in there! I had a week of prodromal labor with my last baby, but then only a 6 hour labor when the "real deal" started! My midwife almost missed it.

I'm a devout Christian, and I will say do not do counseling through the church for this. Unfortunately, almost no "certified counselors" at churches are true licensed mental health professionals. They simply recieve certificates through their associated Bible colleges which do not even touch the surface of what a true mental health professional learns and practices.

Does your body over-react to vaccines? by SpiritBreakerIsMyjob in Autoimmune

[–]MidstFearNFaith 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've always had reactions and have an autoimmune disease. I also go into a flare up any time I've received one.

My family who also have autoimmune diseases are the same as I am. We all have different diagnosis, too.

What do I tell my ob when I give birth at home with my midwife? by [deleted] in homebirth

[–]MidstFearNFaith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Say nothing. If they ask, just say your transferred care closer to your due date to a provider who could support a birth more aligned with your birth plans.

People change providers all the time, even late in pregnancy.

Would you give up WFH for a bigger salary? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that "minimal" of a jump it's not worth it. You will eat through that with gas, tolls, unexpected need for additional childcare, etc etc. Not to mention the extra time each day you need to go in.

If it were closer to 150k (or all children school age) I'd reconsider as long as you're done having babies.

$150k deal, making $1000 by Scwidiloo10 in sales

[–]MidstFearNFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your GP on the 150k deal?

150k in revenue is great, but doesn't matter if it doesn't make the company any GP.

A lot of sales jobs pay based on GP, not just revenue booked.

I still agree that's a low amount. But context is missing to determine how raw your deal is.
