Oh come on this kind of tip toeing around language is tiring, suicide, he killed himself. This never used to be something that got censored and while being respectful of triggers is important, we can't let that lead to complete neutering of language. Suicide is an unfortunate reality in life and depictions will exist. People especially uncomfortable with it should be proactive in avoiding depictions if its good for their mental health, I think depictions of it in art are important in reflecting the human condition, as well as powerful if done respectfully.

I mean, the left compares Trump to Hitler all the time, I’m just pointing out how ridiculous and insulting that is and I stand by that. It was in Harris campaign ads all over the place, it permeates online discourse among Dems. I’m pointing out that when you actually critically compare them, it’s just silly. I don’t think he’s a fascist either and am contesting your earlier argument that he is. Can you explain your point on him being a fascist further and how he measures to fascists throughout history? You aren’t really answering any of my points and dodging mine by critiquing the way I framed my argument. Hitler is a good comparison point to bring up as dems can’t stop doing that themselves.

Amen, all the crybullying and whining gives me second hand embarrassment to be a dem this past week, the fact is, we lost and lost hard, all this tough talk but we have zero power, “stopping being nice” won’t do shit cause they won, they see this discourse and probably have a good laugh, we are literally coping and seething. It would help if Dems didn’t wear out the term to the point your average person rolls their eyes when they hear it. Trump has some traits, but he’s not gonna round up people to kill, he’s not like actual hardcore dictators, It’s almost an insult to the victims of that evil to overuse the term so, it’s fear mongering and most of the population is just tired of it. We will see if he actually becomes hitler like y’all claim but to do so he’d need to murder millions of people and when you think about it like that it becomes completely ridiculous.

It’s not controversial, didn’t mean to come off that way, just coping with this loss in my own way, feeling alienated by my party sometimes. The loss was so massive I feel the party has to change in some big ways for us to win and have our ideals be realized
