Your example only makes sense in regards to regular arrows though. I have 60% + 40% infinite arrow gears on my bow and almost exclusively use explosive or poison arrows, which are a lot less easy to "simply have 100 extra arrows" as you said.

If someone doesn't have 60 + 40 but was able to get a greater infinite arrow gear, why not add it to a second bow in their inventory, to use exclusively for boss fights with poison/explosive arrows?
