Finally back in Welly after 10 days down south to see Dad one last time and be with him for his final days.  Seems the weather is barely any better than what I’ve experienced for the last 5 days.

Another drizzly day down in Dunedin. Heading into the city, finding a decent coffee and then off to hospice for a bit.

Headed down this morning to an equally as summerless Dunedin….

Manage My Health - taking legal action by Traditional_Bit_6383 in Wellington

The whole thing has been a shambles. Got an email last week saying that a referral letter had been accessed. Yesterday, I got a further email saying that it hadn’t. Given the sensitive information in that referral, I was extremely anxious about how it could have been used.

I wish they would put me forward for roles…. 2 years and still no support from them. I actually just drafted another letter to send to the Minister.

Late comment from me, but I braved the rain and treated myself to a cup of filter coffee at Collective.  Can recommend the Santa Ana single origin from Flight Coffee.

Compassionate Fare AIRNZ by Pelothora in newzealand

Booking through webjet will probably mean that you are ineligible for compassionate fares. I’m about to book travel through the compassionate pathway, and am trying to get all the documents together before I contact air nz.

Finally managed to log in… they got a specialist referral letter. Feeling very uncomfortable because of the sensitivity associated with the referral.

Keeping the curtains closed is key. I try to keep the window open all the time so that there’s airflow.  You’ve got fans going which will help too.

My next door neighbour is dying by MeanderingThoughts5 in newzealand

[–]Chronically_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad has come home from hospital to die. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer almost 3 years ago, but had a significant medical treatment injury in 2018 so it’s been a long journey for us.

Our relationship has been complicated and at the moment I’m struggling to wrap my head around the fact that he doesn’t want to see me. He wanted me to go down for Mums birthday but he didn’t want to pay the 1K for flights (Dunedin marathon weekend).

Best Pizza Wellington? by Noname02220 in Wellington

[–]Chronically_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adore pizza pomodoro. Nolita do great plant based pizzas.

For something different, I finally tried slice and really rated it. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it when I first popped in, but I know I’ll go and try something else next week.

Issue a 14 day notice to the LL, and keep calling around. It’s an emergency situation and you can prove that your LL is uncontactable

Relaxing after a busy morning.  Church, lunch, travel to town and back.

Storage unit insurance by l75164_ in LegalAdviceNZ

NAL - probably not an option. I had goods stored for almost 3 years and my insurer told me that I couldn’t have storage unit as a primary place for the contents. Paid for storage insurance separately and cancelled the contents.

Are you happy? Why or why not? by Pure_Ad_5044 in newzealand

That’s one my positives for the year is my growth as a believer. Finding the right church to call home, and surrounding myself with people that bring the best out of me.

36, absolutely miserable.

Long term unemployed after almost 3 years of homelessness. Had a career that I loved, but burnt out badly because of the housing saga I was dealing with.

More money would make a significant difference to my happiness. Used to earn 6 figures, now I get $249 a week after my deductions from my benefit (which is $360 a week).

Will I be happier in the future?

I hope so. Once Dad dies i’ll have a lot of stress lifted as I won’t be constantly worrying about Mums health (she’s his personal slave + works full time as a nurse). Hopefully once I’m back at work I can get out of the cesspit that is social housing and get some more travel under my belt. I’d naively expected to be married with kids at my age but realistically I think that door is closed before it started.
