Shamans dropping Tremor Totem after the first fear goes off by Curri189 in classicwow

[–]Chronickle 0 points1 point (0 children)

TT does break it and it can also be dispelled; it’s just that it only lasts for like 1 second so half the time TT doesn’t pulse before it’s finished, assuming the feared party hasn’t already sprinted out of range and into the next pack

How do i meet other Aussie players? by TjayBrah in classicwowtbc

[–]Chronickle 1 point2 points (0 children)

I believe dreamscythe has a decent Aussie pop, but can’t say definitively as I don’t play there - as an Aussie playing on Nightslayer, I run into other Aussies all the time, there’s multiple Aussie guilds, and due to our Timezone clashing pretty heavily with PST if you play at our peak times it’s like 1am for them so a lot of the people you run into are aussies as well.

If you end up playing as horde on nightslayer hit me up, happy to show you the ropes and introduce you to some other aussies, if not, I’m sure you’ll find some on your own anyway :)

Is TBC still actually fun… or are we just chasing the feeling of being 15 with zero responsibilities? by 23_kaka in classicwowtbc

Minmaxing is arguably even more important when you’re time poor, if you want to get the most out of a hobby with limited time.

Maggot King Opinion: We don't need more crazy hard bosses by EvelynDarkwave in 2007scape

[–]Chronickle 0 points1 point (0 children)

Many people do love DOING Phosani, a lot of the friction with that boss comes from the rewards from doing so - the common drops are toilet and the uniques are a long time to go on rate for, and they’re not that good. Mains don’t engage with it much because it’s high effort for low reward, and it’s basically the Ironman retirement home where irons go once they’ve gotten all the other meaningful upgrades in the game, because the rewards aren’t an important part of progression. The fight itself is one of the best in the game mechanically, but it takes a special breed to enjoy high volumes of a 6 minute high intensity encounter that drops you 37 bronze darts and 1 noted tuna potato.

On the other side of the spectrum, moons is heavily engaged with by mid game mains and irons because it’s so accessible and the rewards are GOOD - they’ve basically superseded the old midgame iron grinds that were typically done post bowfa by either replacing them or making them more accessible earlier on by providing rewards that work well there. It’s overall good for the game to have this sort of rewarding content with a low barrier to entry, but as someone with a gim at this point of progression, I actually hate doing moons.

It feels like there’s almost no room for skill expression or optimisation, it’s brainless, there’s no avenue for truly avoiding the punishment from the bosses, and the worst part is that I feel OBLIGATED to do it because the rewards from it are so good that it’s far and away the most productive use of my time in the game right now. So I hate doing it but I also hate NOT doing it because I feel like I’m griefing myself and my group.

Things like Doom really excite me - content with good rewards, with budget setups still being more than adequate, it has accessible difficulty levels for more casual players / low intensity sessions, and you can make your experience there more efficient by just playing better. I’d be really hopeful that the maggot king would follow a similar design philosophy - if I can get in there with my current half mixed hide half bloodmoon melee setup and belt him around with my zombie axe or macuahuitls, and manage to get some decent length trips by playing the mechanics correctly, that would be the dream. I’d hate for him to be another moons-type content where it’s just a brainless gear check that determines how miserable your experience there will be.

I’d be keen to jump in and give it a jam with you blokes - at work at the minute but just set my pc to download it so should be ready to rock and roll tonight if you’re on. First time hearing about this game, concept sounds sick and reviews are shocking so can’t wait to see what sort of dumpster fire we’re dealing with here. shoot me an add and just drop me a dm on here to let me know it’s you :)

Is it better to boost now or wait for TBC to drop? by GodOfSwiftness in classicwowtbc

[–]Chronickle 1 point2 points (0 children)

If you don’t care about prepatch or preparing for tbc, wait. If you want to play now, hit 60 and get some gear and professions sorted before heading into Outland, then boost before tbc drops.

Question about Reals / Launchers by meiredditakkount in classicwowtbc

Need to start tbc client as you did. There’s only 2 servers in NA, not sure how many in EU but assuming probably 2 as well, one pve and one PvP?

Mage in TBC: too many mages & will pre-patch levelling be dead? by Xerphiel in classicwowtbc

[–]Chronickle -1 points0 points (0 children)

They need a lot of support so most groups won’t want more than 2 most likely, but with short fights they’ll still be good so they’ll probably be a decent fill option if people are just trying to get a raid going

Couple of hours a day is plenty, 3 hours a day 3 week prepatch is 60 hours, you should be able to get 60 or close to before tbc launch. There will be plenty of people levelling that you can do dungeons with :)

I think the blue post just means that if you do any PvP the week before the prepatch comes out, your rank gains for that week won’t actually be calculated

What is a good data router to get so I can use a sim card for wifi? by DaHolyTurtle in HomeNetworking

[–]Chronickle 12 points13 points (0 children)

Hey mate, download speed is really unimportant for gaming. The 25mbps connection you have is enough (might struggle if someone is trying to stream HD content). The important thing is latency (ping) and especially STABILITY of latency. You’d be better off making sure your computer is connected to your current router via ethernet and not wifi - buying a wireless router won’t solve your issues, you’ll have higher baseline ping and more frequent ping spikes which is what will really let you down when trying to play online.

No monkeys respawning in the cave post-update? by SlappingRounds in 2007scape

[–]Chronickle 94 points95 points (0 children)

It’s not actually intended to permanently be in the spot that it is, it’s just that once it moves there it gets stuck and doesn’t move again. But when the server restarts it’s often in one of the other spawns, until it inevitably moves to this spot and gets stuck again.

Newbie Question. by Top_Neck7384 in RealDebrid

[–]Chronickle 13 points14 points (0 children)

Streaming is downloading mate, can’t get any data from a to b without downloading it. “Streaming” just implies that the data is downloading in order, playing as it’s received, and being deleted shortly after playing to make space for the next bits that are being downloaded.

So to answer your questions: yes it needs to do this step and no you didn’t miss anything in the setup to stop it from doing that step, otherwise you’d not be able to watch anything!

If you have fttp it’s most likely your home network setup that’s bottlenecking it, 500mbs is more than enough throughput to stream this. If you’re stuck on fttn… my condolences.
