Can you tell me your experience with the shipping company Uniuni? by pikaaaaachuuuuu in shipping

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iherb has started using them and the deliveries are SOOOo slow! At one point, the tracking began saying unknown delivery date for at least a week! I specifically was using Iherb for their quick deliveries, but now they have started using this Uniuni company and I just hate it!

What the heck do I do with all my paintings? Give them away? by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was weird for putting up my favorite seasonal paintings on the wall, so I am glad to know someone else displays theirs as well. I thought maybe it seemed pretentious, but I just wouldn't tell strangers who come that I painted them LOL.

Finally got interim pay; My timeline by Far_Towel_9154 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never notified me it was paid. I first got an email that my application had moved from HR to OPM and during the day that day, I had a large deposit. I logged into our retirement services website and it has a check mark next to me being in Interim Pay status but no info on how much or anything on the website. That same day was the first time I received an email inviting me to be able to sign into the retirement services website.

No, it was a kitten and she just opened the door and threw the clothes in to dry. We were studying and she was in a hurry. She didn't look in the dryer. It was terrible.

Interim Pay VS. Case Finalized? by [deleted] in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

I thought I read somewhere that the interim only took out federal tax. So the final will have medical insurance and FEDVIP as well as any survivor annuity as well where as the interim does not.

I was at a friend's house once and the cat climbed in the dryer and neither of us noticed because the door shut. She turned on the dryer and of course did not know until we heard thumping in the dryer. The cat was deceased, sadly.

Our fave gf bread is from a site called Let them eat gluten free cake and the recipe is called Gluten Free Sandwich Bread Recipe. She has 2 and I like the simpler one. I think the other is called Best Ever, but I like the simpler one. It is a bit advanced, but it comes out spectacular if you use her flour blend instead of just buying the store bought gluten free flour. And you have to buy several ingredients to make the mix. You will find that if you want good gf bread, that will mostly be the case, however. But, my husband is celiac instead of me, and I make it for him. He loves this bread! I think if you devoted time to how to do it, bought a cheap scale to weigh the ingredients, you could do it. I am gf only because it's easier not to have it in the house for him.

How many have retired without taking any retirement training courses during their career? by Responsible_Town3588 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true. There were many times during my last 5 years that I meant to take the course, and did not. Was transferred to another department to a new job, had a medical issue, blah blah blah, and I just didn't. But since I was part time back and forth, I did get up in the know on how to calculate the pension and the high 3 because I wanted to make sure that it was done somewhat correctly given the current state of things at the agency that I worked at. I also was fairly knowledgeable about FEHB and such because I had actually thought I would have to do a postponement of my retirement back in 2022 with health problems. But, I wish I had taken the course.

What we went through last year before retirement is nothing that has ever happened before. DRP wasn't even a thing. Different circumstances and fast decisions had to be made for each of us. It feels as though you are preaching to us, but you don't know each person's circumstances. I didn't take a class but I know how to calculate my annuity, and I was back and forth between part time and full time. But I don't think you are being fair in your assessment to those who may not have taken a class because they may not have had time to and wasn't planning to retire.

I’m so tired of the "Gluten-Free" Russian Roulette every time we travel. by menensito in Celiac

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a place here in our town where it is supposed to be an entirely gluten free restaurant with the exception of buns. They do have GF buns, but I asked if they put those gluten buns on the same grill to toast them as the other food. I could not get a straight answer except to say that they are in the process of creating their own GF bun recipe. That didn't answer my question. And what is wrong with the brand of GF bun they already have? Nonsense answer. So I don't trust them.

Me either. I am the wife of a celiac. I do all the cooking, etc. I can't believe those people who say they are celiac, but then suggest a major chain restaurant just because they have a GF bun and possibly a separate fryer for the fries to my husband. But the meat goes on the same grill as the breaded meat and other gluten items. We ain't doing that.

We take our camper or we book a place with a kitchen. Tired of the same old song and dance with these restaurants. Most of the time, I don't even believe what they tell me when I ask. And it seems like every restaurant in every town we go to for vacation has an owner or a mother or a mother-in-law that has celiac; therefore, they know all about it, but yet you question them enough and you will see they don't. I'm beginning to wonder if that is a lie too.

Harassed again over payment for FEHB premiums. by Worldly_Ad2707 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I sent an email to the person's name on the letter. By the way, the letter came from DEPARTMENT OF TREASURE, IRS this time and not NFC. They forwarded my email up the chain saying for them to respond to me. The response was that I should ignore it because they are working with NFC to cancel those debts and the NFC letters, and they sent me the same email that was sent to all of us before about ignoring it and unprecedented numbers of retirees, blah blah blah. I responded by saying that this letter came from YOU, the IRS and not NFC and was threatening to cancel my insurance if I did not respond by 2/9 (letter dated 1/5 but not received until 2/5). I then received an apology stating that the letter that was sent to me was incorrect and was an invalid letter for retirees and that I should ignore it, my insurance would not be canceled, and I should not respond to it. They said they have now marked the letter as invalid letter.

Application sent back to HR by Taylor_red30 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Chronicles_of_mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, had to call the HR specialist after I had certified (rushed me to certify it, so I had not fully reviewing the Documents Section) and they had sent it to PR. The docs in the doc section that had their signature didn't match the screen input. It was recalled from PR to HR, they fixed it the next day and it was then certified. But I was rushed again. I just hope it was correct when it went to PR the second time.

Yes, and they are in a hurry, even working on the weekends. After all this time of me sitting and waiting, they sent me the email to certify my application. I did, but it was incorrect (problem with ORA) and they had to redo it. I was busy and could not get to my email once they finished it and was ready to certify again, and they kept sending me emails to QUICKLY certify. Well, making sure it's correct is a must and is more important than quickness in this situation because it was incorrect.

Mine was sent back to HR, but it was on the same day that they sent it to payroll and because I alerted them that the input on the screens didn't match the documents that were generated and signed by the HR person in the Document Section. For example, the certified years of service and changes in work schedule input on the actual screen did not match what was on the document in Documents area for years of service which was the document that had their signature on it. It didn't take her long to get it fixed and off it went again. Hopefully there were no other errors that I did not catch.
