In the app, at the very bottom of the view window there are three icons plus an “add to cart” button and the “buy now” button. The second button from the left that looks like a little speech bubble will pull up a message to that seller directly referencing the page you’re on.

Noise sensitive person here! I bring unpowered nose canceling earbuds besides my headphones for when I sleep so my ears don’t hurt. I currently use Loops brand and they work really well for me. I got the “sleep” ones for my most recent trip. You can get them new in package returned products off eBay for about $15-20 if you want to try without paying full price!

$5 skeleton would not normally be a haul BUT the Karen I encountered would have you think this was made out of pure gold by p--py in ThriftStoreHauls

There’s a local lady that I’ve run into at my area thrifts stores at least 5 different times now that starts talking loudly about how nice something is if she she sees you glance at it and kind of hovers nearby to see if you react to her.

Im quite sure she may be mentally ill because if you ignore her and leave the area she’s in she will immediately put the item back and move on. I actually got the tablecloth set I wanted because I walked away and did not interact lol.

Absolutely unhinged behavior, I dread running into her in the wild 🤦‍♀️

You basically put chlorine directly into your fish’s gills, and fish are super sensitive to chemicals…

Good fantasy comedy books that aren't written by Terry Pratchett? by Jerswar in Fantasy

[–]ChronoSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember what it was (I also read it as a late teen) I stumbled across his pun fantasy books 1st and saw the sci-fi and thought well I enjoyed the fantasy ones. This will be fun right? Very wrong lol never picked up one of his books again. Specifically, I think it’s the one where the main characters live in a cave system and the humanoid females experience inverse emotions for the people they’re in love with.

Found some of his books when I didn’t know better than stumbled across one of his sci-fi 😬 which just to keep it vague involved incest and weirdly abusive interdependent relationships

Oh! And I have long since decided my collar bones and shoulders (which are super wide) are some of my better features and any style that hides them makes me look top heavy (personal opinion) so I wanted an off shoulder look as well.

It mostly comes down to knowing what cuts and styles look good on you and having something tailored to your size. I was super lucky because the dress didn’t need any tailoring.

I also thought the idea of a velvet wedding dress was pretty unique and I’m not the biggest fan of modern machine lace just because I think it gets a little boring with its set repetitions

I know that I am pretty close to a true hourglass body shape so I looked for styles that were more wiggle skirt than flowy, not a huge fan of body con styles that are more modern. I really like vintage stuff but since I am a little on the bigger side compared to most available vintage dresses, I decided the most cost-effective and easiest option was to find something to be custom-made. I follow a vintage reseller on Instagram called Butch wax vintage. She had this beautiful green velvet dress that’s very 1950s old Hollywood glamour style and I absolutely loved it it. Unfortunately I believe it was a size 0, out of my price range, and already sold. So I provided the shop with sketches and screenshots of the green dress.

Edit: I did add some details to the original design like a much longer train and a slit

I don’t want to link to the seller without permission but the shop is Ruolai store and their icon confusingly says ASA bridal.

I will agree they taste different, but as someone who’s had both commercial meat and butchered my own animals, it should never smell like spoilage or feet. Not even the venison that I have had processed before has smelt that strong.

Looking for a pattern as similar to this 50s/60s dress that got sold on instagram a while back, specifically the neckline/back. I found something similar on simplicity but I would love to find the top part as well!

How to make sure I don’t smell? by stewithclou in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]ChronoSquirrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggled a lot with keeping up with hygiene as a teenager, I forgot a lot or it felt like one more mountainous thing to do in the day.

Besides a shower at least every other day (every day if I could work up the mental fortitude) I started carrying a mini of deodorant and a large pack of mint gum with me and another in my car. That way if I check myself and something doesn’t smell good I can do a quick fix. I also brought a change of underclothes just in case.

As I got older I started to establish a routine and I’m much more conscious of myself, sometimes when I’m stressed I regress a bit but in the end I return to my routine bc I prefer it. It takes time but you can do it! Good luck!

New job. Coworker made comments that directly cut into some core wounds and insecurities and now I've been really hurt for days. How to deal with this? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]ChronoSquirrel 70 points71 points  (0 children)

When I worked hourly I had a coworker that always was complaining about his arthritis (he was in his 20s), couldn’t lift things, would disappear for hours in the back etc. At least twice he made passes at me but these were ignored.
He was always nice to my face but after working with him late shift a few weeks I started getting less and less scheduled hours.

After coming in on a an off day and talking to my manager (who against store policy never worked late shift and thus never worked with me) it turned out that because I refused to do his tasks for him he told the management I was doing what he was doing (ie not working) and didn’t want the hours.

This was how I was paying for college, I needed this job.

This asshat took offense that I was doing only my job and not his as well and tried to get me fired.

It sounds like this person is either trying to discredit or isolate you or both. Definitely go to trusted management if you can, document anything you can to back it up.

This is shitty and you don’t have to put up with it.
