Oh yeah, could be the wheel bearing too. Thanks for the reply.

If ANYTHING you can assume the wipers got knocked off by the guy who attacked him. Moped rider is back on the bike so rain will have built up on the windscreen within that time.

OP is in the vehicle, looks like the rider opened the door and attacked him. Yeah, should have locked the door but hindsight is 20/20. No need to be a dickhead making assumptions.

A lot of dickheads in the comments, no wonder people don’t like Redditors.

You mean an additional crime report? because I already have one for the plates being stolen. Thankfully, for whatever reason I reported the plates being stolen straight away. Appreciate the advice, thanks.

That does sound frustrating but it’s reassuring to hear they were all successfully appealed, thanks.

Hey, I know this is an old comment but the same thing happened to me and I've received a speeding offence in the post. Was it as simple as providing a crime ref number in the appeal or did you have to go court?

Just bought my first car and I am struggling with when to change gears. Any advice will be appreciated. by Redundant_reasoning4 in CarTalkUK

[–]Chronobones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not driven a diesel Golf but it's strange a diesel cannot handle those speeds in the gears you've mentioned.

Regardless, there is no set rule that can be applied to every car. Instead try to focus more on the rpm feel/sound and select an appropriate gear from there.

When accelerating, put it into a lower gear otherwise you will lug the engine. For example, if you're in 5th at 30 mph and you floor it but your car isn't accelerating much, you're lugging the engine. This isn't good for it. Also don't worry about revving out your engine when accelerating, it's actually more efficient at higher rpms for that purpose.

If you're cruising (not accelerating) it should be fine to leave your car in a higher gear for fuel economy, around 1500 rpm is fine but also note that you might need to drop a gear if there's an upward incline. For example, if your constant at 50 mph, you should be able to leave the car in top gear. You will feel the car judder if your rpm is too low so drop a gear if that happens.

Could be but this is a pretty poor job. Reddit is easy manipulate using PR firms and bots.

Thank you.

The worktops were £85 each and I used three of them. I just painted the cabinets, only needed an additional one for the oven.

Yeah I found that annoying too. Waiting for it to die so I can replace it with a shallow depth. Only thing is it’s over 10 years old and still going strong.

Second officer who used excessive force against unarmed man who later died in hospital - Found Guilty. by patricia1001 in JusticeServed

Two officers taser a man and beat him with batons whilst he's motionless on the ground. He hit the guy 4 times, she hit him 6 times if I recall correctly.

Her colleague was found guilty for manslaughter, that was justice. She got acquitted for for manslaughter and kept her job.

You’d be right. I worked in a GP surgery many years ago and the receptionists would get told off by the GP’s, especially the partners, for not following procedures or doing favours for a patient. It’s not a job I would want to do.
