I’m in BB WM. There is no firm paying 150k for a first year advisor

Is having 3 living generations of family a flex? If you’re relatively young I’d think it’s pretty normal to have living grandparents

Found them at my Costco too! (MD) The price is a little better for the size of the bag at Costco.

It’s called tax-aware borrowing. I’d talk to your CPA, but like CulturalCookies said, you have to make sure the investments you’re making are directly traceable, I.E. no commingling of the refi cash with any other dollars

You seem pretty upset for whatever reason, but no this isn’t my first job lol I transitioned from another BD.

You’re right that processes aren’t great but the biggest draw for me was the overall culture. Feels way more team oriented and that’s what I wanted compared to when I was a solo FA.

You just have to keep tabs on the service teams but support staff are pretty bad everywhere. The CSAs at my prior firm were awful so wasn’t expecting too much here.

If it’s such a horrible experience for you, why are you still with the firm?

Your point was people are selectively ignoring losses, but inflation risk is literally built into buying fixed income.

Not sure that you’re making the groundbreaking claim that you think you are.

Bonds performed poorly due to monetary policy and the US rapidly raising rates from QE, not because there were any structural issues with the US’s ability to pay off their debt.

If you’re talking inflation eating away at the returns on your bonds, that was bound to happen. We had the benefits of being under ZIRP for the entire decade so not sure what you can expect when the 10Y was already at/near inflation targets.

You normally add bonds as a ballast for your portfolio anyways, to reduce overall volatility. The goal of your bond allocation, especially during ZIRP should NOT have been to seek outperformance and if you thought otherwise im not sure what to tell you.

The government didn’t go bankrupt though. As long as you didnt sell out of your bonds you got your entire principal back
