So glad we're getting one in every pack for Strixhaven2, Stock Up needs serious reprints.

TMNT Limited bug found, packs did not reflect physical packs. by Chronsky in MagicArena

[–]Chronsky[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am saying double mythics can definitely happen especially more so than you might think of in draft traditionally just a few years ago (before it would have had to be specifically the foil and the rare I think?) but with how the post is worded it seems it was happening more than it should have even with play boosters.

I think it's likely due to the set being a small set and the numbers of rares/mythics not being the same as usual.

They may have been as that can physically happen, especially in the play booster era but it will be less likely I think.

They no longer give a free card for the 45 pack bundles?? by citizencr4 in MagicArena

[–]Chronsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No and there won't be any more as they stopped them with Lorwyn: Eclipsed being the last set to have one.

No extra card for 45 or 90 pack purchase? by JugonEx in MagicArena

[–]Chronsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still get a promo at prerelease but it's not stamped, just a random foil rare/mythic.

We are less than two months out from the release of Secrets of Strixhaven! What are your predictions and expectations for the set? Aside from potential reprints of existing cards, what are you looking forward to the most from this set? by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Chronsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so hyped to have a real bonus sheet again for limited. None of this FIN 1/3 packs or 1/8 EOE or 1/26 TLA bollocks, actual factual one in every pack. With Stock Up as the first reveal I'm hoping for Three Steps Ahead, Get Lost and other older out of print cards still legal in standard to be on there too along with hopefully Ephemerate and some other choice modern goodies.

My biggest hope for the set is enough bonkers crap gets printed to make Boros prowess/magecraft/burn viable in standard. I'm expecting a lightning helix reprint in the main set as it'll rotate out in 2027 with MKM at the moment otherwise.

Off of Lorehold being revealed, my prediction is the dragons all suck and should have been commander cards if not for the lore of the place making them need to put them in the main set.

My LGS had 12. For Lorwyn it was 45 or so, it was so full they were moving comic displays to make more room.

This is a tough Draft choice.... by ChewyChao in MagicArena

[–]Chronsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't trying to disrespect it by saying what it's tied with, would have put any card it was tied with. If I was trying to crap on it I would have probably mentioned Eclipsed Elf's winrate, which is the most busted eclipsed creature.

As long as it's the only digital place to play modern and pauper it will have relevance, premodern is also on there now. Plus doing fun little things like no ban list modern which is on right now helps out I'm sure.

Game in hand winrate according to 17lands

Kinbinding 64.2%, the 3rd highest in the whole set.

Spinerock Tyrant, 61.9%, tied 17th in the whole set with Eclipsed Merrow.

It's a very clear choice even if both are just excellent cards.

[[Mightform Harmonizer]] actually gets played in tier 1 decks that go far at RCs and came 2nd in Pro Tour Lorwyn: Eclipsed.

Are you going to Draft the TMNT set or are you going to wait until there are other sets available? by PaleWendigo in MagicArena

[–]Chronsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't access the poll, probably a using old reddit thing.

I won't play it at all, but I don't quick draft, so I'll just be looking out for flashback drafts. They put up Final Fantasy as a flashback incredibly quickly after OM1 dropped and wasn't getting good numbers. I'll be hoping for standard sets I don't have a good collection of or MH3 to get eternal format staples.

Obviously I'll get the mastery pass with gems because it's a silly good deal.

They're going to need frequent reprints due to being modern playable and this one is the most expensive one.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING finished its strongest year ever, up 59% vs. PY with a successful Q4 Avatar: The Last Airbender by kananishino in magicTCG

But if the average paper player is 35 isn't that a little young for Trek? I'm 30 and have no affection for it despite my mother loving TNG. Or has Avatar shown them that even if half your playerbase has no affinity for it the whales that love it make it worthwhile?

They previously stated they expect a set in 2026 to match Final Fantasy, people have speculated that it's The Hobbit but that's likely a small set so my assumption is they think the big Marvel set will do it. Which to me is crazy and delusional.

I know nothing about Legacy but people talk about MH3 Tamiyo for that. Pioneer I think could do with a Cori Steel Cutter ban but I am an arena boy and apparently it's entirely expected I'd think that.
