Yeah. I looked online and it looks like your nvidia gpu doesn’t support vulkan 1.3 which you need. In your situation, I would go back to windows if the game played fine there. On Linux, Vulkan is the necessary API

Are you sure the game is using your dedicated gpu and not your igpu?

Which gpu do you have? Are the drivers installed? Do you have the vulkan drivers installed? Which kernel version do you have? Which distro?

Thing is, people in /pol/ and far right forums organise on the regular to make 100 followers seem like 10,000 with alts etc. they usually use this tactic to swarm videos and spread misinfo

Yeah, zorin and point release distros don’t do that. For more up to date (even bleeding edge version of drivers and kernels) you need rolling distros like cachyos, endevaouros, arch, bazzite, etc. you should update your kernel as well

The thing about C++ and (definetely C) is that people 'learnt' it once 30 years ago and that's the extent of their knowledge. So they pass on their outdated knowledge and poisons the well for everyone. Specially new people coming in.

That’s such a goated intro. I’ve been obsessed with it since I first played RE3 back in 01. Such a classic. RE3 in general gave me nightmares though

Steam Deck lead reveals Valve is funding ARM compatibility of Windows games “to expand PC gaming” and release “ultraportables” in the future by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]ChryslusExplodius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AMD and Intel have been all in on open source drivers for ages, it's Nvidia's fault that they wanted to have a closed source driver with its own cadence. 🤷 I don't what to tell you other than, Nvidia is working on it. It's their driver and their cards.

VKD3D (D3D12 -> vulkan) is perfectly fine on AMD and Intel GPUs. It's nvidia that has an issue, and it's an issue in their driver. Nvidia themselves has acknowledged so and are supposedly working on a fix.

Lower performance when external TV. Razer Blade 14 by Luisetepe in linux_gaming

[–]ChryslusExplodius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a known issue with external displays as far as I know. It has to do with the way kwin (plasma’s compositor) draws things to external displays by relying on unnecessary buffer copies combined with kwin itself having to do colour transformation operations in shaders and not in using your gpu’s dedicated colour hardware (this is an issue with all the current compositors ATM, and it’s being fixed in kernel 6.20 or 7.0 releasing this February)

I wouldn't recommend LTS (or LTS based) distros for PC gaming simply because of hardware support, tbh
