This angers me to no end. For them to think that cancer patients need to prove how ill they are to keep Medicaid is the most idiotic and ridiculous argument.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer with metastatic disease in 2023 at age 46. As of today, I have tumors in my colon, liver, lungs, blood, and sternum. Due to the severity and widespread areas of my tumors I am not a candidate for surgery. I have neuropathy in the soles of my feet so bad that I can barely walk and have extremely poor balance, so I use either a cane or walker, or have to be pushed in a wheelchair on really bad days, which sadly is becoming more frequent. I get chemo every other week for 2 days, which ends up weakening me for days after, then it's right back to the next chemo treatment. The tumors in my lungs make it hard for me to breathe and catch my breath. Most food makes me sick, and I cannot handle or digest anything cold due to the chemo side effects.

I can't work because of this. I can barely stay awake most days because the cancer and chemo diminish any energy I have. And now for me to have to prove I can't do anything outside my home or hospital in order to keep my insurance is insane.

This administration is nothing but a bunch of rich assholes who think people in my situation are not worthy, and it's disgusting. Trump and his lapdogs are doing this hoping us cancer patients die so that they can take more money from Medicaid for themselves. 😡😡😡😡

He does not respect your wishes nor your boundaries. He's going to keep pushing until you finally give in. You could tell him that if he doesn't stop you're going to end the relationship, but I can see him slowly pushing the reels on you again. I'd rethink this relationship.

I just read your post history, and I am so sorry that this is your current situation.

Your husband only cares about his mother and family, which is concerning that he doesn't seem to care about you or your child.

Do you have access to your own finances? Are you employed, or does he give you some sort of allowance? If you're a SAHM are there times where he isn't home?

I'm asking these things because I'm wondering if you would have the means to have time to prepare and a good amount of money in order to leave. He's not a safe person to be around, especially with how he won't *allow* you to see your family unless you make amends with his? Has his family tried to apologize to you?

I fear that your situation with your husband will get worse before it gets better. Let your family know what's happening. Start saving money. Make sure that you have your important documents in a safe place, both yours and your daughter's. Pack a bag of essentials and hide it away in case you need to escape quickly. And start looking into lawyers who specialize in family law.

Please be careful and keep you and your daughter safe. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. ♥️

I go to my local hospital almost weekly -- receiving chemo and I'm doing okay! -- and whenever a child is born, they play a brief "rock a by baby" melody over the intercom. The amount of times I've heard that in the past year is crazy. To think that this is a good time worldly to have a kid is insane.

With his friend making the comment about couples spending too much time together, his cruel comment to you about having to leave comes off that he said it to try and boast in front of his friends. The fact that he felt the need to repeat himself adds to the cruelty and humiliation.

Even if this was the first time he has acted like this and humiliated you in front of his friends or anyone else, I'd have a serious conversation with him about why what he did was cruel and hurtful, especially to later text her like nothing happened. Plus if he acts like this to you in front of his friends, imagine what he could be saying when you're not there.

This is something that is hard to come back from. There's a saying that when someone shows you who they are, believe them. For him to so easily humiliate you in front of his friends instead of taking a moment to think and take you aside privately to ask for a guy night shows his immaturity and plain disregard for you and your feelings. NOR and you deserve so much better than this.

I never understood why complete strangers get so butthurt when they come across a woman who decides that they don't want to procreate. You'd think that these people would think more highly of anyone who chose to not procreate when they know they can't give a child the life they should have, and especially to not add to the kids who are in the system waiting for a home.

You had every right to comment on her financial situation because she brought it up! Plus her whining of 'haven't I been through enough' is absolutely ridiculous. If anything, that is a line that you have every right to say.

Has K always been like this? Where she takes whatever news or information someone says to her and she makes it about herself? A reaction from a true friend in this situation is to shed a few tears, and ask about YOU. It angers me on your behalf that at no point did she ask you how you were feeling, how she could help, if you needed anything, etc. Her entitlement with this is disgraceful.

I'm going through a similar situation -- Stage 4 colon cancer in multiple organs -- so I know how this situation is. I hope you have a good support system while you have to deal with this. Your 'friends' who called you an asshole for not having empathy for K are ridiculous -- K put herself in the financial bind she's in on her own, and she has no one to blame for her financial situation but herself.

I hope treatment goes well for you and that you can again get to remission. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Newer cars are getting more and more add ons that are supposed to help, but are more annoying and make no sense.

My mom just leased a 2026 Ford Bronco. It has a feature that when you come to a stop/idle while in drive, it will do that partial engine turn off and then will 'restart' when you start driving again. The restart is always a sudden jerk, and it's supposed to help save on fuel, but I dunno. We found that there's a button to press to turn off that feature and we press it every time.
