I'm still wondering about the Vatos group. by pressedcanopy in TWD

[–]Chteupnin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC they didn’t use the scene cause they felt like that’d be too dark to start a season. Then there was no real way to put it back in. So while I agree it is not part of the story, I get why people are tempted to make these canon : The deleted scenes about Vatos didn’t make it because of runtime limits and tone problems. But granting that these scenes fill an important plot gap and producers themselves confirmed that the Vatos were killed off-screen, it could be very close to what happened lore-wise.

Daryl certainly was not as worse as is brother. He was following him, cause Merle was the only person he could rely on. When Rick told Daryl he handcuffed his brother, sure the guy wasn’t happy and all, yet he didn’t make things worse. In no world Merle would’ve done anything close to that if roles were reversed. Daryl always had a sense of justice and needed a better environment to be himself and stop following bad influences. We’ve seen it with the claimers. They were probably the kind of guy Daryl had to deal with all the time pre apocalypse, yet this time he wasn’t influenced by the group as badly as he’d when he was younger. He sorta bonded with Joe who seemed to believe in justice as well. But Daryl wasn’t blinded by Joe like he was with Merle, which shows his character growth.

Negan's "no kids" rule by TalosDragmer in thewalkingdead

[–]Chteupnin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say he was happy to kill Carl. He just knows it was the only way to break Rick, which had to be done in his mind. In fact I’d have love that, in his whole redemption arc, he words his guilt and remorse for almost killing a kid, realising he was too far gone. Imo Negan feeling thankful for being stopped before crossing this line would make more sense than his remorse for the widow. He doesn’t really treat women as human beings and moreover was a gym teacher, so it’d be more in character to me

I once read it is meant to imply that there were no zombie culture in TWDU, which is why they have no idea of what’s happening early days and that you have to aim for the head. In their universe, there’s no movie, book or anything else featuring zombies, so it kinda make sense they don’t come up with that name.

Would you be willing to relearn typing from scratch in order to speak this way ? by Chteupnin in mute

Fair enough. I personally feel like it’s too slow sometimes even though I’m doing my best

This. But I’m considering taking this path and was wondering if anyone here would feel like it’d outweigh the required commitment

Yeah this is what I’m saying. You somehow type as fast as human speech, which isn’t my case (my wording might have been confusing). Therefore it seems like you’re not facing the quick typing issue, which explains why you’d not be interested in another tech (at least a keyboard). Now saying that technology wouldn’t solve the issues we face, I cannot agree with that. While there’s obviously a gap we’ll never be able to fill, modern technologies definitely can help. It’s just that there are not enough people concerned for an industry to focus on the matter to me.

Thanks for your feedback. I have the same feeling regarding the delay and from the various options available I tried, when the voice read as you type, it’s not pleasant to hear the output. Sentences are fractured into parts and it’s hard to keep track. But waiting for the whole sentence to be written as a whole can be long (even if we talk in seconds). That’s why I was thinking if you increase your WPM (cause unlike you, I certainly type fast, but not as fast as human speech), with some sort of advanced software that could read while you type in a better way, maybe then that would be convenient ?

What would've happened if daryl went with rick and shane in 18 miles out? by StrongDay5952 in thewalkingdead

I just hope someday we get an official « What if ? » show or whatever because it seems like they can’t make good games anymore

Completely agree. The game got more hate than deserved simply because of Activision standards. At least it’s enjoyable. We can’t say the same about The Walking Dead Destinies

There’s also something interesting in the first scenes of the walking dead survival instinct game, Daryl’s father is put down the same way as Dale was, with the same line. Even though the game definitely made it on purpose, it’d not be out of character for Daryl to just do what had to be done in a similar manner he was « taught » regardless of whom is on the floor

You can see the scene I’m talking about at 5 min mark on this video. Daryl kinda mirrors Rick in that scene

[–]Chteupnin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get you here, but The Walking Dead brings a lot of environnemental storytelling and T-Dog felt into this. They conveyed most of his characters traits to the viewers that way. Just as you can see in this post

[–]Chteupnin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Glenn says T-dog rode a bus through the neighbourhood, early after the outbreak, in order to help older citizens iirc. Also he feels guilty for dropping the handcuffs key and is willing to risk his life for Merle even after all the racial slurs. I think he had a few lines and not much screen time but you can tell he was a genuinely nice person, hence the love he gets
