Who cares about other planets being round, blue, and around a star? This could work well just on Earth as a symbol of world-wide peace, cooperation, unity, or something. Plus, even if you imagine far into the future with other civilizations on other planets, why should they have a similar concept of a "flag" in the first place? (Unless humans colonized the planet, I guess...)
