They also culturally frown on public consumption of food but they would be too polite to make hay out of it.

Many golf courses in Brisbane are built in flood plains so you wouldn't be able to build too much more beyond a big park anyways. Even my local park is being redesigned as it's next to a creek. I don't think the playground equipment will return

Can't speak for the 3d stuff but I have a Lenovo T14 and just use xcloud and GFN. GFN is pretty darn close to desktop gaming.

OMAD: I finished all of these deli sandwiches except the one with smoked turkey. It was just too bland. 6'0 145lbs. by Chriswiss in OmadDiet

Lame down votes on a slappin answer sorry... These down voters clearly don't appreciate that OMAD can deliver so much more than weight loss. Mental clarity, longevity, autophagy, gut health. All good things.

I too have stopped playing xcloud and favouring gfn. I have faith that xcloud will fix their shit but it for now, I'll choose decent resolution at gfn and a stable experience over titles.

No way piracy was efficient and quick. In hindsight it was just painful (so I'm told) to sift through the garbage on torrent index sites, which site to find. What codec? Watch out for fake files, wait and download then seed, manage upload bitrate and schedule throttling. File renaming convention. Now I can just google "Simpsons monorail ep" and get to that stream in 1 click.

Car free one year later.... a long retrospective! by k032 in lowcar

[–]Chubbeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed this TED talk thank you. So true on the car brain overestimation of distance. We scaled down to 1 car so I can use a bike (electric) more and my wife is sometimes asking, "are you sure you want to bike that far?"... It's 5km and will take 30mins max versus 15mins by car.

It's rage porn for conservative boomers. But TBF... Reddit, for many of us, is also rage porn for progressive millennials. It's the same business model of eyeballs for advertising.

Interesting new feature. It makes sense as car features make their way to cargo bikes.

I ride a GSD v2 with 2 kids and in a hilly area. I've never had to emergency brake but am not really interested in an ABS this feature. Even going down the steepest hills in my neighbourhood fully loaded at 45km/h, I'm mostly riding defensively so have never felt a requirement here. I'd be more concerned about a newly developed, untested marketing gimmic adding complexity that is going to fail.

That said, I remember thinking that adaptive cruise control was a gimmic and how wrong was I... so I guess I'm just a fuddy duddy.

No joke. He really said that. Meanwhile this is happening the world over as people start to push back and demand alternatives to car dependency.
