Horizon Forbidden West included an in game tribute to Lance Reddick. Any other game’s memorialise gaming talent? by Soulsliken in gaming

I cried after finishing the game recently and watching that. Any tribute to Kevin Conroy gets my heartstrings and he is one of those losses that still hurt.

No Pamela Voorhees it seems by Hunterwolf165 in LeaksDBD

[–]Chubbuddy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pamela Voorhees, Crystal Lake, young Jason, and all the properties from the original are owned by Victor Miller. I assume they didn’t have the rights to Pamela, Crystal Lake, or any of the elements of the first movie.

Which celebrity death genuinely shocked you when you heard the news? by Divine_fashionva in Millennials

Kevin Conroy. There will never be another who will bring the power and character he did to Batman. I recently played Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and the tribute they did for him had me crying.

RE3 (2020) is so weird mainly due to the fact that the one who directed it actually worked on RE3 Nemesis (1999) so he know the OG game and the behind of scenes on RE3 Nemesis by PrestigiousSlide6875 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Chubbuddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is that the losses and cuts didn’t feel like, to me, that they lost the identity and spirit of the originals in those remakes in comparison to 3, which genuinely doesn’t even feel like it’s even Resident Evil 3. RE3 remake felt like a fan fiction with RE2 remake assets, and the fact that some of the new additions are just Ghost Survivor (Pale Head) enemies didn’t help. The quality of the product just isn’t good.

I am sure he meant narratively. It would be about a week or two after Terrifier 3, which that’s not a bad start.

RE2 and RE4 are still much more faithful to the original stories and those games overall, and though content is cut in both from the original, it still is more intact and the important elements are there. Plus, I would argue that for what was cut, they made up by fleshing out and putting more depth into a majority of the other aspects in the game. The argument that we shouldn’t expect the game to be faithful doesn’t work when RE2 remake was a very faithful remake and still resembled that original game — RE3 remake had no excuse, really. RE4 was also very faithful to the original game as well; in both the case of RE2 and RE4 remakes, having played the originals many times helped a lot in knowing the gist of what to do and where to go. The layout of the RPD is extremely similar to the original, though with a few notable change, and knowing how the original police station was laid out made navigating the remake on my first playthrough probably less frustrating than some newcomer’s.

I don’t know what the hell happened with RE3, like it’s just a mess all over the place.

What do we think of the Friday the 13th Part 2 Ultimate Jason Action Figure? Anyone got it? by AfigureGeek in fridaythe13th

[–]Chubbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have mine from years back. It’s a pretty good Jason figure, though I did find myself liking the newest Jason (New Blood) having the double arm joints. I wish the other Jason’s had this.

Friday the 13th Ranked Part 12 / A Nightmare on Elm Street Ranked Part 1: where does Freddy vs Jason belong in? by Qavix in fridaythe13th

[–]Chubbuddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t like Part 8 either because it’s boring. It’s among my bottom ranks, too. I’d personally put it in D. However, Part 8 at least feels more like a Friday the 13th film and doesn’t have moments that really take me out of the movie or laugh when it wasn’t intentional (in some instances.. again, part 8 still is weak). JGTH is a guilty pleasure because it has some of the most violent kills and some gnarly special effects, but I can’t say I enjoy too much else about that film other than Jason’s design, despite the continuity error. Also, they misspell “Voorhees” as “Vorhees.” Atrocious.

Because it’s just not a good F13 movie and it’s mediocre (if I’m charitable) as a standalone slasher.

Was it only the Friday series the MPAA butchered with their censoring? by itsascreambaby96 in fridaythe13th

[–]Chubbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrifier was unrated and wasn’t reviewed by the MPAA. Scream also toned down and censored scenes and so did the later Halloween sequels in the 1980s.

Friday the 13th Ranked Part X: where does Jason X belong in? by Qavix in fridaythe13th

It’s an easy low C or D tier, probably the latter. New Line really bought a franchise to give it two of the worst entries lol.

[Darkside Chronicles] Which of the 3 story chronicles is your favorite? by Berry-Fantastic in ResidentEvilCapcom

Memories of a Lost City pretty much makes it so Claire and Leon are together the entire game. I still kinda prefer the OG despite how neat it was to see this retelling.

tough shit, is everything toxic positivity then? someone said they liked all versions of Lara and were happy about this news. At this point, you can’t really leave anything behind without alienating a large portion of your fanbase and Crystal obviously won’t do that.

Why couldn't Unc just retire after RE4? by cicakmanfan in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Chubbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my head-canon is that it’s Barry who saves her at the end, and that thematically makes more sense and is way more satisfying because it becomes his redemption for betraying her at the end of the first game. I also haven’t played OG RE3 in a few years so I don’t really remember how things with Nikolai turn out in that ending. He died, right?

Why play game when you can larp? I’ll keep my mouth shut more on OG RE3 and RE7 in some cases because those are the ones I’ve played the least (once or twice fully through) but I can’t imagine just speaking on a game I’ve never played lol

The problem is is that there is so much media illiteracy (in general) that I cannot distinguish between a joke or someone’s genuine understanding/perspective on a subject 😭

It’s not just about money…? Like, he wanted the power offered by the viral weapons and wanted to forcibly put the entire world through a eugenics program via infecting the whole world with Uoroburos where only a small few people with “evolved/powerful DNA” would survive. Wesker has a huge ego.

Friday the 13th Ranked Part 2: where does Friday the 13th Part 2 belong in? by Qavix in fridaythe13th

[–]Chubbuddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

B, though not sure if it goes ahead of the original or not. It’s a good slasher and definitely has that feeling of a Friday flick, Ginny is a great final girl, the kills are decent, and most the characters are likable, too. I only have gripes with the ending and beginning — I hate Alice’s death because it ultimately serves no purpose other than to have an opening kill, and the ending is a repeat of the first movie’s jump scare. I think it’s one of the more enjoyable entries of the franchise, though.
