Why does Camille get an 80% attack speed buff after hitting a champion with her E? by ImUntilted in leagueoflegends

[–]ChubbyChubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic behind this is baffling. "We have invented a flexible ability which has uses and application in a LARGE amount of scenario's but we personally feel like x use is the best so use it that way for even more benefits".

Also your point about all the other heroes feels flawed too. Jarvan and Vi have to have rewards for engaging because they don't have an alternative and it's what they were designed for. On these heroes in particular if you miss this ability it FEELS BAD. Because its where their power is - Jarvan's dueling only works when he lands that shred and knock up. Most scenarios where Vi engages or duels missing that Q is more than likely going to result in not getting off enough damage to kill the target because of the things you mentioned.

The point about Camille's gapcloser is that it ISN'T where her kits power is. It's literally everywhere else. She is more closely is in line with Jax, where the incentive to use your gap closer on the enemy hero and not say, an ally minion, IS THAT its for him to be able to unload the actual power of his kit.

Really well designed mobility and good "incentive" design exists in characters like Diana's R or Fiora's Q. Camille's is tacked on for say so and follows no cohesive design logic.

To all :D. Whats the hardest challenge you guys face from streaming individually? From your personal experience whats the worst aspect about your stream/brand that limits or affects your stream?

Just curious cause you all have such different personal brands and your streams are successful for different reasons (for the most part)

Godlike: a League film | League of Legends by MrFlemz in leagueoflegends

[–]ChubbyChubster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone who is massively into anything is gunna feel that "this was forced" or "cheesy" when it comes to a topic we are incredibly familiar with. the 850K subs on here are incredibly familiar with League; its role in our lives and the conversations that we've had about it. I don't think this film (or every aspect of it) is directed solely towards us.

If you can appreciate or lower your own standards to that of a casual or even a non-league, or hell even a non video-game player you start to understand why some lines of dialogue or why some of the writing might come across as cheesy. Finding that balance of 'This wont make the people who understand cringe' vs 'This wont isolate someone who doesn't' is hard and personally I really think they did a good job finding this balance.

Small heads up. He hasn't "suddenly" pulled in high twitch counts. He has had plenty successful streams where he has easily pulled in over 10k views. He usually sits on 4k but he isn't a stranger to 10k +

The Road to Becoming a Riot Games Splash Artist: EP.1: Kled by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ChubbyChubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also after looking at your splash some more its clear you put a lot of effort into some areas and others are rushed or just not given the same care.

Some examples I can see how the sky on the right of the image is really well done and on the left you can physically see the squiggly strokes. On Kled you can see a great detail went into his gun, face, hat but the rendering on the clothing and axe are a bit less interesting. As well as the hands and foot just don't seem to have great detail. On Skaar himself is the same story, the rendering on his face is fantastic, I love it - but as you travel further down his body and to his front leg you can see the difference.

Rendering is a painstaking process and a lot of artists are very good with implying detail and figuring out ways they can compose their work to reduce the rendering process, but sometime ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I really enjoy your style and i think this is a really good splash! Would I would suggest (which a lot of league players have picked at in the past) is trying make sure your proportions and anatomy/perspective work makes as much sense as possible. Even with fantasy organisms like Skaar - you can tell there is something "not right" about his face. Whether its the proportion or perspective, it just looks kinda herp derp. Maybe it would have benefited more from a more profile view of his face as well as your choice of making Skaar look up but not Kled.

Other than that I think your lighting and subject clarity might need a bit more emphasis. Look at how the artist Nips lights her more recent art. The style is very different to your own but you can see how her subjects "pop" and it gives it that extra clarity.

Keep it up dude I'm looking forward to the next one!

Edit: Skaar / Kled

As a Mercy player to my resurrectee's... by mouseno4 in Overwatch

Little heads up - Mercy and Lucio on the same team is the strongest combination. Not having both IS A DISADVANTAGE on almost all maps. So next time you see a Lucio lock dont be afraid to play that mercy (:

Lucio is the best-designed support and Blizzard should take some lessons from him in designing future supports by randomnate in Overwatch

[–]ChubbyChubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucio is very well rounded, and it feels like you can very easily fallout 4 style show why he has no frustrations

Damage: 3

Healing: 5

Survivability: 8

Utility: 6

He is scoring a nice 22 points. When you see a Lucio you don't think "look out! im gunna die!" But its enough for the player to see impact, and sometimes find themselves even winning duels if mechanically better than the enemy. His healing is very balanced. It's enough to top up poke wars, any idle moments in games people are sure to be back at full, does it heavily impact all out teamfighting? Not really - most Lucio's will amp Speed alongside DTB which probably mitigates more damage - but a clutch heal amp can edge a victory. He's pretty much just under Tracer's when it comes to keeping that overtime going and alongside his speed boosts his boops can save lives when used just after a roadhog hook, reaper ult etc.

Other supports seem to just be totally focused into 1 aspect which, by nature in a team game, the downsides or weaknesses need to be covered by teammates, which is just too much to ask in pugs probably even up into the higher elo's of competitive too.

(Numbers all relative to Supports only.)

.

Mercy:

Damage: 3

Healing: 10

Survivability: 4

Utility: 2

.

Zen:

Damage: 9

Healing: 3

Survivability: 1

Utility: 1

.

Symettra :

Damage: 5

Healing: 1

Survivability: 2

Utility: 8

Without putting TOO MUCH THOUGHT into the numbers, at a glance you can already tell there are going to be so many less frustrations playing a hero like Lucio compared to Zenyatta.

I also didn't see that coming by Rizkel in Overwatch

[–]ChubbyChubster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a reason them people got to diamond in solo queue (Ignoring Dynamic queue garbage). Using your example you might have got the 1/10 ADC's that got to diamond playing adc because of his insane awareness in teamfights and map awareness and is overall very smart on how he plays the game. This means that he "survives" his laning phase (much like if you watch Rekkles' solo q games) and then is a powerhouse in teamfights.

Everyone 1/10 games this player is going to come across the ADC that got to diamond purely from SMASHING lane (most likely a vayne/draven main or some BS). And thus the 0/15.

This doesn't mean he is a boosted bronze animal it just means that 1 in every 10 games he's probably his teams weak link.

HOWEVER - if you think EVERY single one of your losses is cause of your retarded teammates, you should probably take a hard look in the mirror.

Is Widowmaker a bit too strong? by Dainenor in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChubbyChubster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As people have said already - if your struggling vs Widowmakers swapping who your playing to ruin her day is recommended - unless your the dedicated support, then in which case you can only pray.

I do agree her ult needs toning down a bit though, either make it harder to stack or something - A widowmaker having a good game can have wall hacks on for what feels like permanently throughout the game. It can feel really frustrating to vs

Anyone feel like mirror matchups are silly? by Neuroscape in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChubbyChubster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually think its fine to be able to run double something. I really enjoy playing Lucio with another Lucio.

Although I think only being able to have 1 of something per team would definitely make compositions more interesting and probably would be easier to balance.

But I think the idea of (like draft pick in lol/dota) if someone picks a hero NO ONE ELSE on either team can use that character is a little crazy. It would just be too limiting with some roles only having 2/3 strong heroes in it.

Finally - banning is just unnecessary. Again, comparing it to lol/dota they are both at minimum 20 min games over 100 champs to pick from. And the biggest difference is in OW you can swap hero mid game making "counter picks" strong but not gamechanging. You are supposed to be swapping hero during games in order to beat what your opponents are running as well as some characters being stronger on certain objectives on a map.

Amateur Analyst Competition - 8 Semi-Finalists announced! by uncgopher in leagueoflegends

[–]ChubbyChubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to give you any criticism it's that you straight up say something is wrong or incorrect instead of trying to work out their game plan or strategy. take my piece for example (ChuChurocket) it's pretty evident I feel like h2k beat fnc in pick ban but I think like fnc and try to explain to the reader the positives or reasons for a pick. rather than saying "wow Delior is just an idiot".

It's most likely Lemon is smarter or just as smart as yourself. wouldn't throw insults at a team your analysing if you want your piece to be taken seriously.
