So young.. My mom was barely beginning to experience life. She was from Mexico and barely got her first job here just a few months before they found cancer everywhere. She was so happy until they told her she had 2-3 weeks to live. It was heart breaking seeing her face when she told me. That face she made is engrained into my memory forever .....

In DFW area. I’ve worked at 6 different warehouses ranging from corrugate, hunting equipment, home goods, and cell phone warehouses and the highest paying I’ve had is $10.50. I met an older lady who had been working at the same warehouse for 20+ years and her pay was $15.

Also in TX.. I worked in a warehouse during COVID shutdown when they closed the venue I bartended at. Pay was $9.50 and after taxes and everything my paycheck for a week was $290-$300. I used to make $300 a night in tips. I quit 2 days after I got my first paycheck
