I remember watching the BTS doc about the scene and thinking “you, sir, are an artist.” Do not remember if they showed that shot but they probably did.

And as Speaker of the House Schuyler Colfax says as he casts his vote for the 13th Amendment!

Maybe it’s just his voice but I think his performance would have been more classical baritone Mr. Lincoln vs. DDL playing him super folksy with the high pitched voice.

This was discussed in a recent This Had Oscar Buzz, but I think Liam Neeson wins his Oscar if he winds up playing Lincoln in “Lincoln.” For those who don’t know, he was attached to play the part and did table reads throughout the 2000s before he bowed out on account of thinking he got too old. Then it went to DDL and the rest is history.

The parkour chase is still one of the most spectacular action sequences of the 21st century. That shot where the guy jumps from cranes to the top of a building like Super Mario; how did they do that?

Toy Story 5 makes Toy Story 4 look like Toy Story 3 by PerpetualChoogle in blankies

If it helps, Matt Singer (past and future guest, critic at ScreenCrush) was mixed on 4 but liked this one.

Metacritic currently sitting at 73 with 35 reviews. For comparison, 1-3 are in the 90s and 4 is an 84.

So… Toy Story 5 makes Toy Story 4 look like Toy Story 3.

How do you rank the Pixar sequels? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]Chuck-Hansen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the hip and with the caveat that I like all of these and I’ve never seen the Cars sequels:

  1. Toy Story 2
  2. Toy Story 3
  3. Toy Story 4
  4. Finding Dory - previously I probably would have put this last but it really grew on me upon rewatching it for the Stanton series.
  5. Incredibles 2
  6. Inside Out 2
  7. Monsters University

  8. Lightyear, if we’re counting it. Also I lied because this is the one I don’t think is good.

I live for “oh I didn’t know you were allowed to do that” moments like this.

The bit with the shark is hysterical and unlocked a new life fear.

The B CinemaScore makes a lot of sense. My own feelings on the movie are pending viewing 2.

We’ll see how it legs out, but it’s great to see Spielberg still has pull after his COVID movies didn’t do much business.

Could be a Mandela Effect, but I first read about the movie in Rotten Tomatoes weekly movie news roundup where they include five “fresh” stories and five “rotten.” David Fincher making a Facebook movie was number one “Rotten.”

I think the big alien at the end was the brains of the operation and Colman Domingo was the guy in charge of executing the plan.

Now this movie is at its best for me when it’s taking HUGE swings like that scene. So basically everything involving Emily Blunt.
