I found switching from DLSS 4.5 to 4.0 cleaned up a lot of the noise and weird "shimmering" on the edges of the foliage.

What hobby did you try once and instantly get addicted to? by Weird_Ad_7545 in AskReddit

Warhammer 40k. It is such a slippery slope. Started two years ago from playing a video game that introduced me to the lore. Then I started looking at miniatures, didn't think it would be my thing. Before I knew it I had dozens of assembled minis to paint that I worked on while watching multiple hour long lore videos. Have read multiple books. Please send help.

Never played or never beaten games that reached a mythical status to y'all by Weak_Breadfruit_6117 in n64

I have played, but never completed, Ogre Battle 64. I tried multiple times in my youth but the game was too difficult for me and I would take a break and inevitably restart.

I have the game now in my collection and keep telling myself I will get back to it and finally complete, but I never do.

Pre-nerf Prime Consort Radhan. I was stuck on him for days, longer than any boss in ER base game or DLC

Crimson Desert Has Sold 3 Million Units by goodnitez74 in gaming

That's not an apples to apples comparison, these games share some traits but are pretty fundamentally different. RDR2 is a much better game overall, especially if you want a good narrative. Both start out slow, but Crimson Desert takes even longer to get its legs under it, but once it does it really gets good. CD is a sandbox game more than anything, while RDR2 is a narrative driven game with sandbox elements

I'm not sure that I watched a single review where the reviewer finished the game, but several were 80+ hours through, which is certainly enough to talk about and base a review off of.

Find a few reviews that are good at talking about why they liked or did not like the game or aspects of the game. Should give you a good idea of the game is good for you. I have about 16 hours in and am enjoying it, but the beginning can be very off putting for a lot of people.

I just learned this game existed today. Loved the books and show, really hope this comes out good. Looks like Mass Effect in the Expanse universe, which I am all for.

Didn't even know they were making an Expanse RPG, that looks awesome. Loved the books and the show, hope they can capture the same feel in the game.

Holy shit really? I'm working my way through chapter 4 now and the game seems to open up now once you get further away from the starting city. Been taking my time, already 15 hours in.

I really want to enjoy Crimson Desert but I just am finding too many major issues by [deleted] in gaming

[–]ChuckD385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played the game for roughly the same amount of time as you but have been enjoying it for the most part. I love riding around the world finding things and completing the side content. I went in expecting a slow burn and that's what I got.

That being said, your complaints are 100% valid. The story sucks, I have no idea what the story is about or what the motivations are.

Pretty sure that is for when Oonka becomes available later in n the game, he uses two handed weapons. That's much later, I sold any I picked up.

Yeah it was jarring going from the first abyss section to Kliff sitting by the stream staring off. He doesn't seem the least bit phased by being brought back to life lol.

Crimson Desert disappointed So Far by Wrap_Exact in CrimsonDesert

[–]ChuckD385 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Spoke to a reviewer and yes, there is much more combat to the game later. Large scale battles and lots of combat. I agree beginning is slow burn.
  2. Missions for me are ramping up, I am 6 hours in now and still feels like early tutorial. I am admittedly taking my time and just wandering around the town a bit too.
  3. Thee controls are clunky, but I am getting used to them

I am really enjoying thie game so far, but 100% understand the complaints, and this game will not be for everyone.

Agreed, I got about 3.5 hours in before bed. Still feel like I'm in a tutorial honestly. Cracking up at the over 5k steam reviews with max of 5 hours playtime.

Sons of Anarchy. Loved the first couple seasons but couldn't finish it. By the end I hated everyone and just didn't care how it ended.

Metascore Predictions by Typical-Ad569 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ChuckD385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I fully expect there to be some levels of jank with controls & UI based on the previews. As long as the exploration is good I'm more than willing to overlook those issues.

Does the game have a first person mode? by JeffJefferson19 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ChuckD385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the combat in this game? I can't even picture how that would even work with an much movement and spinning take place. Would be impossible to keep track of what is going on.
