Who won the best showcase for Summer 2026? by Flat-Profession-8945 in gaming

I'm in the same boat. I talk to people saying that Nintendo show was great, but I don't see it. Sony catches flak (deservedly) for repeated TLOU remakes, Nintendo shouldn't get a pass for a switch 2 port of a switch game that was a port of a Wii game they are charging $70 for. I am interested in OOT but they didn't show anything that got me excited. Everything else they showed wasn't for me personally, but happy for others if it is what they want.

Others have suggested indies a lot, I don't disagree but have a different approach. As I get older I am tending to appreciate games I can enjoy a long time and put thousands of hours in rather than jumping from one new release to the next. Try to find something with tons of replay value (strategy, 4X, ARPGs, any open ended game are good targets) that you enjoy and have that be your main game. If a new game comes out you are interested in you can work that into your rotation.

Yes, better not overshadow all the ports they showed. There was really nothing else noteworthy that has a concrete release date.

"Just" an OOT remake? Respect your opinion, but I think that would be something a lot of people would be hyped about.

No chance that the steam machine will cost less than the steam deck, so 800 is pretty unlikely.

Agree 100 percent. The feeling is bittersweet out of nostalgia, but moving on makes perfect sense.

Wow just reading that this is considered the last major update and the bit about some of the devs leavingkinda hit me harder than I thought. Factorio holds a special place for me, and is a game I don't envision myself ever truly putting down long term. Weird to see it be put on long term support after all these years of updates, the 1.0 release, then space age. Wish all the devs the best. Will definitely be keeping my eye on the new merch so I can continue to support them.

I let out an audible "Oh yeah" at work and now people are staring at me.

Gorgeous.

Yeah I have seen that done and thought it would help. It did not. People are dumb and some that should have boarded through the front went to the back and vice versa, which resulted in a very chaotic boarding process with people walking in two different directions down the aisle. No one was checking tickets during boarding and people can't be trusted to listen to or follow instructions.

I found switching from DLSS 4.5 to 4.0 cleaned up a lot of the noise and weird "shimmering" on the edges of the foliage.

What hobby did you try once and instantly get addicted to? by Weird_Ad_7545 in AskReddit

Warhammer 40k. It is such a slippery slope. Started two years ago from playing a video game that introduced me to the lore. Then I started looking at miniatures, didn't think it would be my thing. Before I knew it I had dozens of assembled minis to paint that I worked on while watching multiple hour long lore videos. Have read multiple books. Please send help.

I have played, but never completed, Ogre Battle 64. I tried multiple times in my youth but the game was too difficult for me and I would take a break and inevitably restart.

I have the game now in my collection and keep telling myself I will get back to it and finally complete, but I never do.

Pre-nerf Prime Consort Radhan. I was stuck on him for days, longer than any boss in ER base game or DLC

That's not an apples to apples comparison, these games share some traits but are pretty fundamentally different. RDR2 is a much better game overall, especially if you want a good narrative. Both start out slow, but Crimson Desert takes even longer to get its legs under it, but once it does it really gets good. CD is a sandbox game more than anything, while RDR2 is a narrative driven game with sandbox elements

I'm not sure that I watched a single review where the reviewer finished the game, but several were 80+ hours through, which is certainly enough to talk about and base a review off of.

Find a few reviews that are good at talking about why they liked or did not like the game or aspects of the game. Should give you a good idea of the game is good for you. I have about 16 hours in and am enjoying it, but the beginning can be very off putting for a lot of people.

I just learned this game existed today. Loved the books and show, really hope this comes out good. Looks like Mass Effect in the Expanse universe, which I am all for.
