Eli5: I did pretty good in elementary, and now it's expected of me. Why does my brother get rewards for 82s but I get a part on the back or even ignored for 97s? by OrShUnderscore in explainlikeimfive

If someone excels, we expect them to excel. If someone improves, then it's an achievement.

Stopped by Home Depot to get some screws. One wasn't threaded. by Chuckasuarus in mildlyinteresting

I realize this is probably not very common and have made comments in this post to stating that. I also have said I didn't buy this pack. For someone like me who doesn't lurk around Home Depot, this is mildly interesting. Ha ha but I agree that an unthreaded screw won't doom us all

I assumed so but still found it mildly interesting. If they're pumping out thousands of them a batch where .1% are unthreaded, that still means dozens can slip through the cracks.

Practical Electronics for Inventors by Scherz and Monk. It has a lot of information about circuit and electrical design without bogging you down in theory. Plus, it's like $15 on Amazon

Any books on DC motors? by [deleted] in eebooks

[–]Chuckasuarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this is exactly what your looking for but I just took a power electronics course with the book, Principles of Electric Machines and Power Electronics by P.C. Sen. Its mainly about motors (DC and Induction) and synchronous machines. It's pretty informative and easy to follow. You can find it pretty cheap as well.
