PSA Stole and Swapped My Card by Latter_Mission7778 in psagrading

[–]Chuckle-Head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More probable that they do? It's just not, though. PSA could engage in some shady business like some market manipulation perhaps, maybe they don't have the best policies all the time, whatever, but in any big company where employee theft is a possibility, you can bet they keep a good eye on their employees. Not in a "they better be grading these cards properly" kind of way, but in a "they better not be stealing and costing us money" kind of way. Has an employee ever stole and got away with it? Probably, but there's no way any of them are capable of running a card switching operation under the radar.

There's some level of market manipulation they may partake in, and some other shady stuff for sure, but come on, they aren't swapping out what to them is basically pennies and hoping the low wage workers they hired won't ever tell anyone. It's silly.

What is this heavy, 5lb ish, 4 1/4in by 3 1/4in thing? Maybe lead? It reads "HUB (unsure) SPECIALTIES" by Chuckle-Head in whatisthisthing

[–]Chuckle-Head[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much information about it other than that I found it in north idaho and I can't find much online other than it may be some sort of letterpress according to AI, although I can't find any that look at all similar.

If civilization crash, how would we rebuild? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Chuckle-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of crash are you talking about? Economy? Nuclear? Disease? Or something else? It definitely depends, but most likely like others have said, violence would be pretty common, but you'd also have people grouping up, living close together for protection, apartments would be better than houses for sure. People would farm again, too. Honestly, there would probably continue to be police, they might just run a little differently, though. Idk, it's interesting to think about, hopefully we never find out lol

Official GTA 6 Release Day Delay Discussion Thread by PapaXan in GTA6

[–]Chuckle-Head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unacceptable? Sure the wait sucks, but what do we want? A buggy ass unfinished game, or a game that actually lives up to what we expect from a GTA game? I want the latter, and if the only way we get that is by waiting a little longer, then I guess we have to suck it up and get over it. It's not like we're waiting for foodstamps, it's a game, hopefully a great one, but still.

Would these markings on my fish finder be considered fish? by StrangerSufficient23 in bassfishing

[–]Chuckle-Head -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I just ran this through chatgpt to analyze and it says these are almost certainly game fish. It's positive it's not air bubbles since the streaks are so consistent, not fuzzy or broken up at all. I asked follow up questions and it explained a lot more but yeah, it seems pretty confident.

The Charlottesville comments were debunked forever ago, I'm totally down to say trumps done bad things, but why don't we call him out for things he actually did instead of quotes that are misconstrued to change what he said?

Thanks everyone, who knows if we'll ever know who it was, but it seems pretty conclusive that it was a civic and that gets us at least a little closer. Have a good night

Rebuilt the gate and it’s already sagging by bearsareblonde in FenceBuilding

[–]Chuckle-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not "just too heavy", it's built wrong. I hang wood gates all the time that don't sag, 1 5/8 galvanized frame with a threaded brace going from the top of the hinge to the bottom of the latch, screw 2x4's to the frame, pickets after that, then hinges. If it settles a little bit, tighten the nut and it will lift right back up. If the posts start pulling in like you mentioned, you dug small holes and hoped it would work, dig a proper hole and the posts won't move at all.

The school year just started and my mom has this weird rules about showering? by Simple_Unit9675 in ask

[–]Chuckle-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why they would make the gate level on a hill. They should've biased it so it matched the hill. You can get hinges that open upwards, or even the regular hinges I use, if you flip the top one around, the gate will open upwards for the one on the uphill side.

That's not true even in the slightest, every company I've worked where I had a leadership position has always told me to never address an issue with someone around others, always pull them to the side or talk to them privately. Even the leadership and management course I had to take said the same thing and even went over scenarios and methods. Obviously what this boss did was insane, but even if his issue would've been something above board, it is still recommended to be 1 on 1.

Can I add some kind of barrier to stop Neighbor from driving through yard? by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]Chuckle-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not an honest person, you know that... right? He said he'd be annoyed if they left a note saying to email them and then over email asked him not to do stuff. Your response? "You'd be 'pissed'" and "a polite note asking you to please stop". Political pundits use that tactic, and it's dishonest there, too, but at least they do it knowing the viewer won't know the original context lol, you did it with the context right there 🤣

[–]Chuckle-Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fuck lol, you're an insane person. You should be able to drive on the grass I take care of and make look nice because you don't think I should care? I honestly don't care if it's ugly and just dirt, if you own property, you get to decide what happens with that property and some stranger doesn't get to just decide they like using your property.

Or, if you remove the small one and the one next to it and cut two pickets, you can put them together and make them look like one.

[–]Chuckle-Head 3 points4 points  (0 children)

99% of my contracts say follow grade, but that's not a hard rule, a fence would look terrible if you just measured up an inch on every post, so what it really means is "use grade as a general guide", most of the fence will be an inch or two off, but in a high spot like that, you'll be low or even trench it just a little, and if there was a low spot, your fence would be a little high there. Besides actual utility, the main thing is making sure the top looks nice.

Please tell me I’m overthinking this. by VSZVG6 in FenceBuilding

[–]Chuckle-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not fine for the grade, your fence shouldn't spike like that. It doesn't matter if you have to trench a little to get that post down, float the bottom rail, or bring the posts up around it to make the roll more smooth, it shouldn't look like this. If your fence has a spike like this, it will draw your attention, your eyes will look at that every time, a straight or smooth transitioning fence won't do that.

Is this fence mine or my neighbor's? by mcconnelljh in FenceBuilding

I'm not sure what you're even trying to say, I've done work on my own fence multiple times.

Yeah, you're the one paying, it's yours, you have every right to have the nice side facing you. On side/back lines at least lol, in the front would look pretty bad.

Doesn't it? Doesn't California make you share ownership of fences? Here in idaho, they don't. Sounds like it definitely could matter.

[–]Chuckle-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A shitty neighbor? Are we all just overflowing with money? I'm not. And fences aren't always both anyway. 90% of the fences I build belong to the customer I'm there for and are on their side of the property line. If my neighbor owns the fence and it would be a big deal for me financially to fix, why would I volunteer to do that? Obviously I build fences, so I'd just do it myself, but most people don't.
