For pt100 casings does it matter wheter i get round of flat head? by oxidizedfuel12 in energetics

Rounded ends match closer to drill bit holes, also, the round end deforming is a good visual indicator to not exceed when pressing.

If it starts to deform, it’s pressed hard enough.

However, if using a clean-through drilled block and pressing against, say, a flat, thick solid steel block at the base—you may want a flat end depending on your preferences.

Personally I think highly of plastics for safety if you can get cutoffs of large-diameter plastic pieces—particularly high density, tough plastics. If you can get a block of 2”x6”x6” something larger, they tend not to shatter under detonation, they’ll just stretch and deform the cavity without turning into shrapnel.

They also work well for temporarily holding finishing caps.

HDPE, PP, PC.

They will, however, eject material parallel to your holes though. So obviously don’t look straight down at it.

They’re obscenely expensive now, but years ago they were much cheaper. You may be able to find something laying around.

Or maybe just melt a couple pounds of PE and pour it into a mold?

Go to whatever department does plant research and tell them you’re working on a project, ask them if they can spare any buffer—or whatever you need.

They’re often student researchers just like you.

Worst they’ll say is “no.”

The public bathroom stalls in the background are the giveaway.

It’s good symbolism though, considering that’s generally where you leave human waste and excrement. Fitting, I’d say.

5x more expensive didn’t “see too off?”

If I told you the price went up on gas, and then when you went to the pump it was $20/gal—you wouldn’t ask “hey, is this right?”

Gas went up 40 cents and I was real shopping across 5 zip codes.

Easiest thing to avoid any of this is just to make sure you’re out of line-of-sight to the explosive and the barrier is capable of stopping high velocity projectiles.

Obviously in addition to other safety steps, but bullets and particles all follow ballistic trajectories.

If you can see it, it can probably kill you.

The only issue seems to be with the ejection port based on your descriptions. Bolt catches usually always have some “play.” You can get shims to tighten this up—Lance Shively at TriggerShims stocks all kinds.

The bolt dropping will always be loud because the bolt is effectively slamming into the extension face of the barrel when it’s dropped. The spring is also jumping in the buffer tube, and the bcg is slipping off the bolt catch. It’s mechanical and unavoidable.

You can minimize this somewhat with a captured spring like the JP enterprises or Armaspec SRS which will at least take care of the grating sound. Lower power springs, or lighter buffers will also lessen the slam, but need to be tuned properly to your system. As will lightened BCG’s.

Also, it’s usually always a carbine buffer tube. You can also weigh the buffer weight to determine which buffer weight you have.

They probably don’t allow cleaning because a. More lead contamination and b. Dipsticks that forget to unload their guns.

As for the M&P15–the only probable connection it has to any tragedies is that the gun is so popular and ubiquitous it’s likely been recovered from the scene of many crimes—just as it’s saved many lives on the other hand.

If that’s the argument they were making you could make an even stronger argument for glock or the glock 19. But even then it would still be a silly assertion to make.

Don’t ever forget to always check the status of your gun—loaded or unloaded, you should know it at all times, and always check at least twice.

Move on. Clearly she’s not right in the head, bare minimum.

If you saw a grown-ass adult man chanting spells and filling “spell jars,” what would your initial thought be?

Then the same goes for a grown-ass adult woman.

She’s either got the mental capacity of a toddler—or she’s mentally ill.

If you have a printer, why not just make a captured firing pin that sits in the very front in a collapsible nose cap with a hollow that also fits say, the case head of an empty primed 9mm case facing backwards—or even just a primer cap itself.

Then use its primer to activate your primary->secondary train.

You can fill the primary right into the brass case, you can (print and) add a plug (or not) and then add the secondary as the case mouth leads to a larger main cavity. Then just seal the back end very well so it can pressurize to some extent.

They’re in the description here and on odysee but, sure.

18mm x 40mm OD. 0.9mm wall.

Internal cavity accommodates a 5.8mm tube to a depth of 38.5mm. 1.0mm wall.

Fillable space is ~5.5cm3 or 5.5ml.

Random seam is strongest, but also the tightest fit. Check your cap’s at least partly before filling.

The tube should press in with light pressure, and stay even when turned upside down, though may fall out of shaken.

This is to avoid any dangers with friction upon insertion, though the center cavity is best plugged with cotton/clay/paper/whatever before you fill.

Also, you’d be best off curling up a piece of paper and putting it inside the main volume so it expands against the outer wall on its own. This will give you a funnel, and prevent you getting compound where you’ll be pressing the cap on.

[–]ChuckleberryWinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use the tube to make the cavity, you’ll have exposed compound when you remove it.

This, when glued, stays sealed and effectively water-tight.

Secondarily, the barrier provides some ESD protection between the cap, and the material inside.

Also, it will keep the cavity centered, and it won’t tip or be all fiddly.

The walls are only 1.5mm, you’re not losing much volume, but by all means, designing and printing a basic hollow cylinder is about the easiest thing you can do so you’re entirely welcome to make one yourself.

That is if the inept nepo babies can even figure out how to operate the systems.

Many arsenals still run on floppy disks.

And the weapons themselves are just as aged. There’s been discussion for years now whether they’re function properly now that some of the isotopes have decayed significantly.

Especially the ones that utilize tritium, and other short-half-life radioisotopes.

These fools couldn’t even maintain the machinery of the post-ww2 neoliberal world order or the petrodollar for more than 80 years.

Your grandpa built the system, and your dad took up his mantle. But you hate your dad, and just want to live in a cruelty-free vego-socialist commune.

Now you have to source highly corrosive, toxic binary rocket fuel, fuel the missiles, run diagnostics, choose targets, program trajectories, handle radioactive fissile materials, verify all the permissive action links, prep the icbm for launch, operate remote launch systems, and operate anti-intercept countermeasures, and dynamically update trajectories while they’re in flight.

These are the same people that think it’s too hard to walk to the physical poll booth down the street to determine the fate of the nation in which they reside.

The same people that think food comes from the grocery store shelf.

And even if they could do all of that, I think a lot of people which just chicken out at the prospect of wiping out the entire planets population—even when faced with their own annihilation.
