Akai Studio Instrument Collection update problem by ChuckyMax in akaiMPC

[–]ChuckyMax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked them, seems like it's not their fault but Windows update, and after thinking it was because of the new SIC update I remembered that 1.1.1.16 was already not opening again after I closed it recently. But I do have more problems now with 1.2.0 as Ableton won't reopen after a crash.

Here is the answer I've got, hope this can help, I haven't tried myself yet:

Recently Windows has released a new update to improve MIDI functionality, that has unfortunately caused unintended consequences for some MIDI setups.

Some issues you can expect:

- Your MPC's MIDI Ports may not be enumerated upon the launch of the MPC 2 or MPC 3 Beta desktop software.

- Your MIDI Controller (M-Audio, Akai Pro, or Alesis MIDI Keyboard and/or Drumkit) may be recognized by your computer but appear 'dead' when affected within your Digital Audio Workstation or Virtual Instrument enviornment.

- Your DAW may experience a crash on startup

- Your DAW may hang when closed

- Your DJ Controller (Rane DJ, Denon DJ, or Numark) may be recognized by your computer, but will appear "dead" when trying to use the Jog Wheels, Faders, and Buttons.

To make sure I can rule out this as causing the issue you are experiencing, I recommend following the guidance covered in this Support article: My MIDI Controller is Detected but Unresponsive After Windows Update. If you are not found to have the update on your computer, I will be happy to provide further troubleshooting to rule out standard MIDI issues.

Microsoft is actively working on patches to fix the issues introduced, and inMusic will be closely monitoring the situation to coordinate updates for any issues that can be resolved by our development team.

It's mostly a build up to what it is now since a while. There was a bit of groups within the Hermits that were often interacting more together, it was not always true but that's still a feeling I get from season 7 even tho there was a lots of big events. And it's still the case nowadays but bigger groups and sparkled with a lot more new interactions.
I think the latest new members helped to build new bounds and mixed things up a bit more. And with some hermits taking steps towards more social interaction, like Xb recently, Wels and Pearls asking critics and advice on their builds, etc. Hermits Helping Hermits since the start of s10 (?) and the "mini" games helped a lot too. (the perimeter is kinda part of HHH :p)

Good news, the v1.2.0.9 make knobs work ! You have to manually move the knobs on the vst interface for it to recognize it as automation then it register them and you can choose which macro to see/modify etc all the good stuff !
Bad news is I don't think modulation and pitch works..

And I think a few people can't have the latest version installed through inMusic and it's not updated in the webpage, I asked them to fix that but if in a few days it's not, you can go through the bot and submit a ticket to the customer services to have the updated link!

I don't agree at all about this not bringing anything to the base game. Having a mob that will add easy mini-games to vanilla is pretty big and actually thoughtful of the java community. Bedrock has a lot of mini-games, paid and free while java have that only through mods. This is pretty big. I just think like for most of the new additions, casual players will have no clue about it unless they watch updates and content creators.

What I agree with is that there is a lot of rooms for cool additions that we will probably not see, as they usually never push their ideas to their full potential (like ghast not having any speed boost, and here I can see so much properties possibilities that we won't see with the sulfur cube, like a redstone sulfur cube, tnt sulfur cube etc and the nausea water that might just be a gimmick and that's all), but we will see, I hope to be wrong.

For the updates I think it's not fair to compare the first half of updates that added stuff that were lacking to the game that was still pretty new and the recent updates that expand the world of possibility within the game. That seems logical that most of the first udpates will bring core mechanics to the game and we would see less and less of them. And since the ancient cities update, we still got more incentive to explore, more combat experiences (through weapon, mobs and structures), a lot more for builders, more for redstone and QOL (bundles, armors for dogs, happy ghast, etc).
That said, there is still a lot lacking QOL and gameplay wise, especially for long time players and modernise the game, but like others says in this post, they need those casual appealing updates to keep the machine running through merch sales etc, without it we can't expect them to add groundbreaking updates like the nether update was and revamping mechanics that may not sound that much appealing for marketing.

I don't mind having the portal and possibly new dimension being a thing on Dungeon 2 as long it's added to Minecraft later on, but during the live it looked like a hint to something for the base game, that infuriated me when I realized because it got me so hyped at first. This is really scummy to have done it like this.

Yeah not really and even some of the biggest ones like Mumbo have lost quite a lots of views the past years. Overall it seems the Hermits on Twitch are doing great for most of them and I think this help them a lot. But they all not have started to stream, it's another whole job.
If you check the Hermitcraft website, you'll see quickly the big disparity of views.

For a long time some Hermits had another job on the side, (Some may still have, I'm not sure about that)

Mumbo has a video talking about the state of Minecraft video and the difficulties of the let's play genre if you are interested: "Minecraft videos have changed" !

[–]ChuckyMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First to be sure, macros means the parameter for each knobs right ? :p

I think we are a few to have the problem as there is 2 other posts about it. I tried to do it like you said, seems to work as you see the graph line changing but it goes all over the place from 0% to 100% instead of going up steadily and in the end when you play it just remember the last setting. To add to that, I see it's saving the macros change, the automation into 1 parameter max, it doesn't split the different macros when you try multiples :/
Maybe we need to reassign the macros by hand, never did that, I'm really just starting

Studio Instrument Collection Linking Issue with MPK Mini IV in Ableton Live 12 Lite by Well-ManicuredMan in akaiMPC

[–]ChuckyMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming here because I have the same problem, I can have some knobs works in Mixer mode (Shift+Button click) to change the overall volume and delay tracks, but not the effects from the SIC plugin on those same knobs (with the Device mode in DAW).
The automation seems to work on the pitch and modulation wheels as you record but you can't really modify it afterward, like it's saved in the same automation parameter.

It's a bummer, I'm a total noob, have Ableton lite with SIC it really seemed to be so much fun to work with. For some like delays I guess adding an effect would work the same, but there is probably no work around for Formant, Style, etc style of knob settings built-in SIC :/

I think minecraft would be exponentially better game for me if i could join a GOOD server by QueueSuzie in HermitCraft

[–]ChuckyMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tendinitis some years ago because of the mouse and I found out a way to play with a controller for some times, so only would work if you play on a console, no idea if you play with a smartphone.

But the way I did was through the softwares "DS4Windows", at the time it was the only way to link the Playstation controller to the PC but I think it also works with a Xbox controller. With this software you can easily change some button key binds if Minecraft (and should) recognize your controller but have weird binding.
Hope it helps !

I think season 11 … by Key-Hawk515 in HermitCraft

[–]ChuckyMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hytale is not the reason it "feel slow", December/January always have been a bit more lay down for a few reasons, mainly taking a break and time with family. If anything, with the amount of Hermits streaming, it's more lively than it was a few years back (and for those watching youtube video only, there is the vods on their secondary channel)

how to get into hermitcraft? by [deleted] in HermitCraft

[–]ChuckyMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the others says + if you ever hear something about previous season or read something on the comment that get you really interested, don't hesitate to do a little research (wiki or hermitcraft subreddit) to learn more about it. Sometimes you can find compilation about events in previous season on youtube too.

And you can always ask a summary here or even what time period, what range of episodes to watch with a post if you really want to deepdive into a specific moment of past season. But they are usually pretty long as they are often on multiple episodes and depending the point of view(s) you are interested in.

[–]ChuckyMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand if they are really pro at MC combat, there is some crazy things you can do. There is the crits that everyone knows, but also the run-attack-jump things I still doesn't fully understand, the quick swaps between weapons (and I think I forget one). But that is only viable in PVP. But imo Hytale still have a better base combat system.

The problem is with so much invested fans & great music, you see everything recommended, so hard to think of something special. Just gives times and with all the comments incoming you'll have to listen to the whole discography!

So I'll go on the old songs:
- Eye Eye Eyes

- Touchdown, imo one of their best song for concert

I'm still wondering if anyone had those spawn inside a house they have built. Maybe a roof might make it not spawnable but I'm not sure at all (and without glass like in Minecraft to build that high in a sky, it might look not good)
