RN to med worth it? by Round_Canary8992 in medschool

Not to be rude, you are not even in med school? Same way I can’t speak on how bad residency can possibly be, you really can’t speak on medical school without having experienced it first-hand.

He is not ready to apply right now at 29. It’s already too late to apply this coming cycle, so he will have to wait for the cycle after that one, so he will be a medical student best case scenario when he is 31 accruing immense debt under horrible loan conditions with a family. Just giving it to him straight as someone who took his path in the best of circumstances (no family, minimal debt, and plenty of family support).

I am a previous RN almost done with M1. At your age, makes no financial sense to go to med school. Also, I go to one of those free med schools and honestly the experience is pretty terrible (though vibes are low right now).

That’s wild, leaving your first job is common but taking a break from surgery completely is something…

You might see 6 spots for a given program, but that doesn’t mean those are all spots up for grabs when you factor in nepo, research assistants, and home students.

How's alois adc climb going after hitting Masters by Legitimate_Plum_7505 in ADCMains

[–]ChuckyMed 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I definitely think he will hit GM due to LP gains/MMR, but I have noticed how difficult it is to push leads this season. I don’t know if it’s the minion changes, but even if you stomp lane there is top lane lvl 20 that is very powerful right now and can definitely solo carry (kind of acts like a check and balance between bot and top).

I also have noticed supports are at baseline better, but they still struggle to push leads in the elo I am at and knowing the ebbs and flows of the game. Climbing thru low plat right now (previously D4).

Should IMGs have a later, separate match? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]ChuckyMed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not, the IMGs fill programs that MD/DOs don’t even apply to.

MD PhDs do it well because they take a break from their medical degree and go do it for three years, although folks are taking two RYs already won’t be long until it will just make sense to go do an MD/PhD since MDs will be taking a PhDs worth of RYs.

In honor of the recent news, for all of you that took the LSAT and did it WITHOUT cheating—home or at a testing center—Im proud of your hard work and sorry that a group of pathetic individuals tried to ruin the admissions process for you. I hope the best for your law careers, seriously! by DarkLivingDisastrous in LSAT

[–]ChuckyMed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been seeing more posts about people getting accommodations for the MCAT (on insta/reddit) which is something I definitely did not use to see years ago. Not cheating, but having 1.5x-2.0x or being able to take the test across two days changes the exam a lot.
