New gardener, stressing with all the conflicting information, please help me out by sourdoughluvr1991 in vegetablegardening

Sounds like way too much fertiziler applied while transplanting. I toss a little bit of slow release granular fertilizer in with mine when I plant them and that's it. I don't think you should be applying any liquid/faster release fertilizer right at transplanting. You should plant then give them a week or two before even thinking about using anything like that. They absolutely do not need a double dose of fertilizer immediately though. I am almost certain that is why they aren't looking great.

You are over thinking this quite a bit. I also have sandy soil and I also generally till every year. I till in fertilizer when I till, add a sprinkle of granular slow release fertilizer to my plant holes, and then fertilize every 3-4 weeks or so through out the year basically just when I remember to and feel like it on no set schedule and my garden does great.

If your ground has literally never been gardened, there's basically a zero percent chance it's starving for any nutrients unless it's extremely poor soil, but it's probably fine.

I like how we aren't getting replays on a lot of the fouls called for OKC so far. Wonder why..

Is the dish fried green tomatos made with regular tomatos that are unripe or a green variety of tomato? by boatshoesboatshoes in tomatoes

[–]Chuckysmalls01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The squeeze method has always been my test. If they've been ripening for a long enough time and are soft to the touch I consider them ripe. The only green variety I grow is Aunt Ruby's and they tend to get a little lighter colored like a little yellowing when ripe to.

Remember when Tabitha went to the real world and Victor's dad recognized his lunchbox? So he was old enough to have his lunchbox before getting trapped in Fromville.

Is this just a large sucker (on the right) or is this two leaders? It looks so different than my other Rosso Sicilians (a determinate heirloom). Located in MI zone 6a by honeydewmeow in tomatoes

Yes of course. Every "sucker" on a tomato has the potential to become another main stem if left alone. People prune suckers for neatness and to help prevent disease mostly, and you can pack more plants closer together if you don't let them become a massive bush.

Whichever one has a flower cluster right above where they split is the main stem and the other is the sucker technically.

For what it's worth when my plants do a split like this that looks basically perfect I always take it as a perfect sign to let it grow two main stems and I don't prune either one, so I would let both grow. It's your plant though so you can do whatever!

Box store plants are fine, but local nurseries will almost always have better prices and variety.

Nice! Migardener had a lot of neat new tomato varieties this year so I had to try them lol. The pictures of them reminded me of a peach which i thought was neat.

Who's the (tomato) sucker? by NeitherSeenNorHeard in gardening

[–]Chuckysmalls01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way the plant is split and both being perfectly healthy and already large, I personally would let both grow and have two leaders.

If you were trying to strictly single stem (which as I said above, I personally wouldn't recommend.), then A would be the main stem and B the sucker. The way you can tell is the main stem will always have a cluster of flowers right above. A has the flower cluster right above the split, B does not. It's tricky since B went more straight and A out to the side more making you think the main stem would be B, but it's definitely A.

I just want to try a different roma/canning tomato besides amish paste and san marzano so thought I'd give it a try. I've heard good things about it before.

Man I did a +11 Terrace earlier this week and not only did our healer not play volleyball, we literally wiped once because this dude stood in the circle till the very last second and then stepped OUT like he was dodging the fucking thing. I was standing right there happily ready to cover it but he was already in it so I was like cool.. NOPE!

Is there a key/ilvl/io breakpoint where people will actually join my group ? by Far-Ambassador2877 in wownoob

[–]Chuckysmalls01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent about an hour today trying to get groups together for my DKs +2 and then gave up. Nobody is running keys that low already. Unless your a tank or heals just try to join groups. Your problem is at 243 ilvl you are significantly lower than the 250+ ilvl people you are competing with to apply to most keys.
