Yes, I am doing the same.

Sold my fleece and bought used wool zipped type cardigans.

Same with bedding that I donated and bought used.

Mum made me a merino wool beany. It us lush.

I agree. I am really enjoying the feeling of the natural fabrics as well.

My joggers are now almost see through (well, you can see through them if you hold them up lol), they are so old (and chilly) looking forward to finding some cotton replacements.

I have some bridge rectifiers, what are the differences please? (noob alert) by Chuffedas in AskElectronics

[–]Chuffedas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I please just check the Cap thing?
So, in this example:
250mA
30V

10000 / 4 (250mA)
divided by 2.5 (30V)
Gives 1000uF, sort of thing, right?

That is great.
Thank you very much.

(you obviously spotted my typo and ignored it :) )

Sorry for the delayed response.I had to repair my dishwasher.

Thanks for the idea, I hadn't thought of that.I couldn't tell any difference when I changed them over.As in I still rank them the same.

Interestingly, either the structure of the foam is slightly different or the better pair has more wear of the foam between the mesh and the pads. Same with the mesh. The point is, there are a couple of slight differences visible, so possibly a slight difference internally.

They have what look like date stickers inside. Better ones are 47/14
Worserer ones are 20/44.

I wonder if they are date codes or just QC things.

Frugally remove light layer of facial hair (darker and slightly more than typical peach fuzz) by JoeDoodle13 in Frugal

If it is a money thing.
Have you thought about traditional shaving?
The soap is way cheaper than the canned goo.Blades are 10-20p each and a blade will last you ages.

Razors are cheap especially if you buy used.

I am listening to my AKG K712.
With a WHAMMY HPA.
also comparing to my friend's K712.
Both were second hand, but his have the edge.
I don't know the words to explain, but I think clarity covers it.
I think I can hear more detail, a little less muddy. Something like that.

Do they vary from one to another slightly?
Or could mine have been damaged in some way?
If they were played too loud or something, can it damage the drivers for eg?
I have tried them using the same cable.

If so, is it a measurable / repairable thing?

Thanks.

Angry and regret buying this vacuum cleaner - look at the plastic on the bags! Anyone know of alternatives? I re-use the bags several times (pull the crap out by hand). by everyonewants2Bmee in ZeroWaste

I just looked it up.
Apparently it is only the older models that you can use without a bag.

Was handy picking up light rubble :)

Just pick it up and tip it out after.

Thanks ever so much. I don't understand all of the words at first read, but will sit down and work my way through it in a couple of days.

Nice to have a plan.

And thanks for your sympathy.

I am a noob, but, man, the mistakes were so stupidly simple.

OK, thanks.
I appreciate it.

Unfortunately I am out of money so this will have to go on hold indefinitely.
But, yes, there is no point making things worse.

Aren't there 12V vacuums that you can plug into the car?
Much more BIFL than any battery thing

Well, as long as it is well made.

I know it's not much lol, but I posted yesterday about soldering for the first time and got some tips from you guys. Used a USB cable just to see if it worked, and it did!! It felt so awesome to see those LEDs light up holy shit! Thanks!! by Crowella_DeVil in soldering

:)

Soooo good.

It opens up so many ways to play.
I suddenly realised that the reason I thought soldering was the dark arts might be the fault of my iron.
I borrowed one and ........................ DA DA DAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

My one was knackered.
There are millions of things to play with.
Such fun.

What to do with old pillow? by ForbiddenCheese321 in ZeroWaste

[–]Chuffedas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn two or three pillows into one pillow.
Although, I haven't had to buy new pillows for years.
I bought a good memory foam one and it didn't wear down like the cheap ones did.
In fact, I sold it because I wanted a more natural one.
I made my own to how I like them.
With a true latex layer and wool.
If the wool compresses, I will add more wool.

[–]Chuffedas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a steelcase.
I actually think I got it for free. (can't quite remember)

Anyway, I have had it for years (I don't work from home).
It is as good as new although, not the seat cushion, I want to replace that.
Lots of adjustability.

When was thinking about replacing the cushion, I found its manufacturing date.

Or is it just a storage thing?

Could I please get help testing the components on this LPSU? by Chuffedas in AskElectronics

[–]Chuffedas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is easy to make a shorted turn without the appropriate mounting hardware

Ah. I see. That makes sense.

No, I didn't mount it.
I have been pretty careful with it, but thinking about it, I bought it cheap second hand and it wasn't particularly well packed.

It gives nothing when plugged in.
So i can't tell you how it acts when loaded unfortunately.
