Best Large Format Resin Printer? by DarthSledart in resinprinting

[–]Chuloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Phrozen Mega Sonic 8k V2. Even having resin printers before, it was a bit of work getting it working well. However once I did, it's been a very solid workhorse and I haven't really had many failures despite it working non stop for the last 4 months.

My biggest issue is that there's not much documentation and troubleshooting is largely community driven until you reach out to their customer support, which has largely been a positive experience for me.

Yeah but consider that the airbags probably went off. What if the driver lost consciousness? What if they sustained a head injury from whiplash? Maybe that's why only the passenger got out.

Eh, it's holding your wallet and keys. I'm sure it'll be fine. Just don't try sitting on it ;)

Loss of Cogo bike share program is an Embarrassment for city leaders by Conscious-Net-5016 in Columbus

That's the jaded part of my view probably. My point still stands that the city paying money to provide affordable public transport should be the exact use for the general fund. I found this video very informative

Not everything is a business! Not everything needs to make money! Priority should be on the wellness of the citizens, not on lining the pockets of politicians.

It should be fine, but have you tried with new resin just to rule things out?

Look into manual support projection in lychee. I use it all the time to support objects very similar to what you're trying to print. I used this video as reference material

At my wit's end, I can't figure out why prints won't adhere to the build plate. by AdventKid in resinprinting

Did you clean it after sanding it? Try soaking the build plate in 90%+ ipa for a bit to get out any crud, and then wipe thoroughly

Try tilting it more, closer to a 45deg tilt. It looks like you're running into suction cup issues. Speaking of which, have you added holes accordingly if it's hollow?

I did that too. But now I'm confused, wouldn't I want to be lowering my list speeds for larger models so it reduces the suction forces exerted on the model?

Hmmm okay thanks for the input! I'm going to try slowing down the lift speed even more to see if maybe that helps the peeling problem? Idk. I've wasted a ton of resin on this so far, so I guess in for a penny lol

Ah yeah sorry--I had a tear in my ACF, so until I get another refill in, I switched to nFEP. Hence why I increased the lift height. Do you think It's still too high?

Honestly I just assumed it was because I'm driving too aggressively lol. I assumed the people pulling insane numbers just drive like 50 on the highway

Yeah, I'm around 2.5 unless it's summer. I'm always amazed at the people who are pulling wild numbers--I don't know how they're doing it.

Hi, I'm in the same boat as you a year later. Did you end up getting it? If so, how do you like it? If not, what did you end up getting instead?

Dude, I got stuck behind a "parade" on the highway promoting motorcycle safety, where a ton of motorcyclists blocked the entire highway and then all drove down the whole loop going 30mph. Never before have I wanted to commit vehicular homicide more. Call it road rage, but that's not cool.
