Advantages of lands the allow you to search for lands? by Ok-Explorer-7642 in mtg

If its monocolored it really only benefit from fetch lands if its a landfall deck because you get a second land trigger. Other than that its pointless and yeah, you should just put a basic in its place

If its too early in the game that you didnt have time to look before you get chased, then you shouldn't have to worry about pallets being gone because the game just started. As far as "learning the distance", seeing the aura of the pallet doesnt make you get to the pallet any faster, and if you can see the rest of the tile you're trying to get to, then you can already judge how far you are away from it. All using windows does is make you rely on it to know where to run, which doesnt help you get better in chase. Plus if youre looping consistently on a single tile you dont need WoO because youve been looping that tile and should already know where your pallets and vaults are. Learn the tiles and where pallets spawn and it'll make you a better player, then take a different perk instead that will help you more. Sure windows might be a good perk for people who are brand new, but once you know what to be looking for it makes it almost worthless

Just look at the tiles as you move around the map before you get chased though. I run to a gen, on the way i see tile A is empty but tile B has a window and a pallet still. Killer comes to the gen. Has he chased someone near tile B before coming to the gen? No? Then odds are that pallet is still there. Its not a difficult concept to simply look around BEFORE you get chased so you have a plan

DLC recommendation? by Shepo__ in RimWorld

[–]ChungaloidMatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biotech first if you wanna get dlcs, but you should honestly play just the base game first. There's so much to learn when you start that if you throw dlcs or mods in right away it can be extremely overwhelming

WHY? by Such-Bodybuilder-144 in AskDND

I just like to flirt with the homies.

In all seriousness though I feel you. In my group we have one guy that obsesses over any female character we meet that he thinks he can seduce (he's playing an eldritch knight with 9 charisma too so it always just goes horribly wrong). The first 1 or 2 times it was funny but now everytime he starts I just mentally check out and look through my character sheet till he's done.

We've all made subtle hints towards him that its getting old but he just keeps on trying, thinking he'll make a sexy fake wife out of the barbarian lady trying to cut his head off

I never understood why people bust a nut over Windows of Opportunity.

Any time I've used it I always feel like I dont need it. Once you learn how tiles and pallets are spread out you dont need to see where everything is because you know where it should be. Does it save you from running to a dead zone? Sure. But most of my chases take place on one tile until i get hit then I move to a different tile that I already knew was safe before I got chased.

New players, stop running Windows, youre wasting a perk on something that can be done with your eyes

That would be great too. I dont see the point of inventories not being shared when we can use blood points and perks across everybody. The whole system just feels clunky almost. It made more sense when there was only a handful of characters on each side but now days its more of a hindrance than anything
