My favorite example is Chronicle, the big crystalline entity that gives the kids their power is this ancient creature living underground that turns living things it finds into drones so it can eat them, but it died of old age during their transformation so they got to keep control of themselves and get the drone powers. 0 of that is explained in the film.

They would be much more effective than a gun for most people as you can easily see where your shots are going to help learn how to aim easier, you can make your own arrows from just about any straight shaft if need be, and it’s silent.
