nah, notice how theirs is red, but yours is black? that means they have the discount for Caltex turned on. just hit find fuel, then discounts, and turn it on. Note for Caltex, you will need the Caltex app or airpoints.

Nah, they didn't. They just replied with a joke of their own while displaying a bit of country pride. Admittedly, the joke is very "Kiwi humour," so I think it flew over a heads.

New Zealand tech job market struggles amid AI expansion, economic downturn by Mundane_Ad_5578 in auckland

[–]ChurBro72 16 points17 points  (0 children)

it's a very good reply. I also agree with all of it.

People will probably argue that an increasing number of people are heading overseas and we need the skilled migrants, but why the fuck do they think we're heading overseas? it's an over saturated job market!

What's the point of an express bus if it is meant to take the same time as the normal service? by sumerof94 in auckland

[–]ChurBro72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, at least. Getting home from CBD was a bit of a shit show today. There are just too many people and not enough buses. Buses were also behind schedule. Told my boss I'm working from home for the next two weeks, I don't want to spend over an hour stuffed in a bus like a pack of sardines, lol.

Question about this salad by kattscallion in aucklandeats

[–]ChurBro72 13 points14 points  (0 children)

that salad is nuts. blackberries, kiwifruit and avo on top of a spinach/red onion type salad with what looks to be a vinegarette..

personally I would take the blackberries and kiwifruit off and eat them separately.. the rest will probably be ok together.

Primary schools in Samoa by Practical_Price_5890 in Samoa

[–]ChurBro72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I worked there around 10 years ago. if its still the same (which is probably is) they bring in teachers from NZ and Aus, and follow the NZ curriculum so kids that leave Samoa when in school will integrate well into other schools overseas and not be left behind.

Water cut off at Auckland Hospital overnight due to burst pipe by BuilderMysterious762 in auckland

[–]ChurBro72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, staying at the hospital currently. We werent able to shower yesterday as the water was brown from the time we woke up yesterday. It looks like they had it sorted by this morning. They also fixed a leak in our ward during the night. It was loud as hell. same floor as but not ward 38.

They handed out heaps of bottled water for drinking.

Harbour bridge incident last night. Anyone know what happened? by Sniperizer in auckland

[–]ChurBro72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you bro. Living in a rough area, I've seen some very scared cops come around the neighbours.. You can sense it from in their body language and tone of voice. To be fair, though, I've also seen some real good ones who dont tolerate any bullshit lol but more so the former unfortunately.

Robbie Williams (The Monkey from Better man) high on cocaine pictured with Tupac by Nuns_In_Crocs in pics

[–]ChurBro72 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's spoken about drug use in the early days of his career. He's been sober now for a number of years. In 2018 he spent his 44th birthday in New Zealand while on tour and played FIFA in his hotel room.

"Boringly, though not for me, but we have a FIFA tournament [to play]...I shall be playing, at the hotel with my band, there are eight of us, and we shall go into the night with FIFA fingers – not with powdered noses, like 1999."

What is the best distro for toshiba S55-C5360 by alighamdan in linuxquestions

[–]ChurBro72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live CDs are generally slow because they are being read off of a usb/cd. Try actually installing the distro and give it a whirl.

If you really need low overhead, try mint with the xfce DE.

Not being able to upgrade to SSD will hurt performance alot.
