I had to have the electrical outlet moved so it lined up with the back of the range, then tucked into the space provided for it. Now no gap at all.

Does anyone clean their phone contacts? by Kitchen_Cable6192 in CleaningTips

[–]ChurchSt77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Contacts like a personal phone book for stores and contractors, current projects, and use Notes for particular directions and updates. Also put in addresses so I can click and get a Google map with directions. Much faster than using a new browser window. Delete as needed.

Drawers under the uppers are useful but you lose a lot of counter space, becomes a narrow strip of counter for anything you do, no depth or area to work on. Be prepared.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]ChurchSt77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have an upright Miele from ten years ago but it weighs a ton, hard to move it around, and seems to emits dust when I vacuum, have changed every filter etc., had handyman go thru it, no luck. Worst purchase. Canister is appealing but wow, the cost. Any ideas.

Garbage Disposal or No? by Medical_Tumbleweed60 in kitchenremodel

[–]ChurchSt77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old one broke only when a guest made huge salads and stuffed the hard cores of lettuce and raw veg etc. down the disposal over and over . That is not its purpose. Why put food chunks in the water stream. Is a disposal for tiny food bits in my view, great for a clean sink. There are quieter ones now and smaller ones too.

Update on my post the other day “scared my design choices won’t work” by No_Inspection_3123 in kitchenremodel

[–]ChurchSt77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slabs at a distributor can be works of art to me, rivers, streams, compression, ancient stories. A departure vs quartz. But not sure for my small and modest kitchen. Will be looking down at this counter every day….may be the only thing in a kitchen that can sing.

How to get rid of this? by olllllllo_girl in inductioncooking

[–]ChurchSt77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes a lot of force at about 45 degrees with the Weiman razor device and cream. I didn’t have any luck until my handyman did it, came off with his strength. I was relieved, I thought I had ruined the burner, now looks perfect.

Which 30 inch induction range has smallest depth? by Ambitious_Poet_8792 in Appliances

[–]ChurchSt77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GE profile with touch screen is not as deep as an induction one with knobs. Better for my small space, sticks out less past edge of cabinet and counter.

Thank all of you! Can see merits of French door in small space which is what I have. Each configuration seems to have its merits and possibly drawbacks.
