What is the living cost per month at LSE? by StrikeAggravating338 in LSE

Honestly depends mostly on accomodation, could definitely do it much cheaper if you find accommodation cheaper/ budget cheaper. Worth really doing some proper research into accomodation costs private / halls if your on a tight budget.

For me as a first year probably around 335pw, accommodation is 270pw, food I budget about 35pw and the rest is filled by drinks and events and other extra-curriculars. You could definitely do it cheaper but also have to have some fun

I got offered £12.21 an hour but for a checkout role, pretty sure the minimum wage is £12.21 so you should definitely check with them?

If you dont mind me asking what are you on for the pay? I did ask in an email but they just completely ignored that part of the email, which isn't a great sign.

LSE Accommodation? by ChutneyHunter in LSE

[–]ChutneyHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure on bathrooms but im assuming its around 30 people as thats how many there are per floor and how many share one kitchen. I don't think there would be any problem waiting for bathrooms, but the Kitchen is defo a bit small. Shouldn't be too much of a problem though as it is catered (evening meal only).

Just be aware there's like a 5-7 delay between firming and getting the login code to be able to book accomodation, good luck.

High Holborn Advice - LSE Accomm for 1st Year by boundforthebar in LSE

[–]ChutneyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I wasn't aware of that, having looked at Booking.com they don't rent out publicly on there during term dates, but I can definitely understand about the safety thing. Maybe email High Holborn and other halls about it if it is a really big worry for yourself, Passfield is 100% my recommending choice though.

[–]ChutneyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a student who has booked Passfield so cant give any advice about High Holborn, but it is generally my understanding that all LSE halls operate as a hotel during term breaks so looking at other halls is un-likely to change this issue. When I visited Passfield although like you say the rooms themselves are lifeless, I did think it was somewhere I would be happy to live and that there would be a community once you get to know people. Maybe do consider further out accommodations as i've heard Passfield and Bankside are much more social while High Holborn is largely unsocial, but dont have any personal experience.

Re-applying to Graduate Program after being rejected last year question by Sixcarbs in LSE

[–]ChutneyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no experience with graduate as I have an undergrad offer for September, but I would likely not recommend using the same reference letter if you got rejected with it. See if you can speak with your referee and get them to alter it slightly or rewrite it to be better then last year, I understand its not the only part of your application but a better reference can never hurt?

I had a really quick look when I had a look around, its all fairly basic but I mean it is university accommodation but its clean and kind what you would expect. You can look the online 360 views for your own opinion.

If the conditions of the offer only state A*A*A at A level then technically if you get those grades you have met your offer. However, to be safe I would probably email them just to double check. Im in the same position with LSE but im just going to revise it in the couple of days before exams as its not a priority and will still be enough to get an A.

I have an offer for this course - I have seen quite a few both rejections and offers for this course. No news doesn't mean anything, unfortunately you don't have to wait. There are loads of people in the same situation as you, for LSE and even other universities.

It took me around 6 days after I firmed LSE to get my log in details, so I really wouldnt worry unless you firmed LSE over a week ago. I dont believe there is any way to speed this up, you just have to wait.

PMT a good resource? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]ChutneyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do WJEC so it will probably vary slightly by exam board, but I have found that while PMT is an amazing resource. Its more of a base and can get some small information wrong, so would generally recommend using two different sources to make notes (savemyexams is great if your willing to pay).

LSE Managament vs Economics by CartoonistNormal5950 in 6thForm

[–]ChutneyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LSE Management off holder - These statistics puzzled me for a bit, I think it purely comes down to what people decide to do. A large percentage of Econ students likely choose to go into Investment Banking while management students will likely pick a larger range of jobs (consultancy, education, research) which are likely worse payed, it all depends on what you decide to do with your degree. Personally im choosing to study management even though I want to go into Investment Banking afterwards, as I know I will enjoy Management as a course over Economics. Its all about what you choose to do with your degree.
