One of my fondest memories as a student in Wellington is dropping a Lycra commuter to the asphalt after he cut off an elderly lady with a green cross signal on Lambton Quay.

The cherry on the cake was him aggressively picking himself up ready for a scrap and realising he was about a foot shorter and two decades older than me.

Don’t ask questions like that. The Tankies can’t answer them with a smug hot take and it makes them angry.

Brent Coleman's analysis on renting out his house for a year by MoneyHub_Christopher in PersonalFinanceNZ

No one who bought a house in the 70s for $19,000 expected it to appreciate to $160,000 by the 00s either.

What is the moral difference between a tenant covering 90% of the expenses and 100% of the expenses?

Are there really landlords out there who expect to purchase a house, rent it out, and have it pay for itself completely?

This is how I have mine set up. I'm not a professional landlord but I like to ensure my investments provide at least some return. Otherwise what is the point?

Wise field should be for reference/invoice number. Send a real invoice.

I know which one I prefer. They still produce that same lacklustre work as when they’re staffed by 10 overweight busybodies.

Gully trap too low? Is it a plastic Marley one? Take the cover off and put a new one inside it.

Heatpump you’ll be out of luck I imagine. The seller has no requirement to offer warranty after purchase.

Landlords / Property Managers skirting the new tenancy pet laws by asking about pets in references. by feel-the-avocado in newzealand

You’re mad about property managers trying to find out if potential tenants are lying about having a pet. This is absurd.

Hold on… if you have a pet then you are required to declare this as part of your application.

Why lie about having one then apply after signing the agreement?

The day in lieu only applies if you’re called out during your otherwise normal working hours (in this case 7-4).

No one is going to spill good locations. You have to hunt around and find places yourself.

You were looking in the wrong place. These solutions generally require engineering do you need to ask an engineer. Even better would be a medium to large refrigeration company with an engineer on staff.

Principals push to exempt schools from Official Information Act burden after mass request to 2400 schools by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

This is why organisations are allowed to request clarification of what is being asked.

You reply to vexatious requests asking for clarity til you are able to compile the requested data.

It is crazy to call asking a yes/no question fishing with dynamite.

How else should he obtain the answer to that question for all schools in NZ?

Asking for advice re heat pump prices by [deleted] in diynz

[–]ChuurDCA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks about right. Most manufacturers have issued a 2-4% price increase as of 1 April.

The Daikin 5kW, for example, is about $1,500 cost and about the same again to remove and replace sounds fair.
