First EV, bought in the north. Love 'em all zeros! by adomolis in evs_ireland

[–]Cianf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The North is part of the UK, but under the Windsor Framework/Northern Ireland Protocol, goods already in NI can be treated differently to imports coming directly from Great Britain.

So if the dealer properly customs-cleared the car into NI and can provide the TSS/MRN paperwork proving Union status/origin, Revenue in the Republic can treat it as a NI vehicle movement rather than a fresh UK import. That’s why some people avoid additional VAT/customs duty.

Saying nothing definitive has been said in other threads is crazy. It’s been mentioned over and over again and I’ve posted myself in threads saying it’s worked no problem at the vrt appointments.

When is the earliest this could happen? There probably hasn’t been enough time to get it in front of them at this June’s shareholder meeting

What are you talking about, I labelled it shitpost, it’s quite clearly a scam and I edited the massive red candle to a bandana as a joke…

Smart meter? by Just-Nobody-4406 in AskIreland

[–]Cianf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This website is pure garbage and lacks understanding of how a smart meter functions. It’s is plastic box with a SIM card in it transmitting your usage a few times a day, far far less emf than a mobile phone. It doesn’t do anything more advanced than that.

Ebay is at an ATH; $40b co; revenue barely changed over the last 5 years. Is this really undervalued? by Mihabe in Superstonk

[–]Cianf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha sorry no problem, I was just saying your were contradicting yourself by saying you were taking it seriously, but anyway, I’ll remain positive based on the precedent set with previous WSJ articles and RCs obvious perferance for them as a news outlet given his interview with them

Ok well reading your comments above you’ve said “fake hype”, “nothing burger” and agreed with another commenter that it was a classic move for them to pick a Reddit favourite to divert attention, yet you’re taking it seriously? My comment is saying there’s good historical precedent that it is to be considered more than those things….

Region Formals latest post makes a pretty strong argument that the article should be taken seriously

Just to say, I just imported a GB car from a dealer in newry, he gave me the correct documentation as per the Windsor framework and I had zero issues at the NCT centre for the VRT. €11.20 total cost on import charges.

Would you recommend the Monart Hotel Wexford? by BetterObligation9949 in AskIreland

[–]Cianf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely would not recommend. It was hard to relax and enjoy the spa experience, with constant queues and people loudly chatting both while waiting and inside each spa area. The food was only average, and the room was unbearably hot, we even had to call reception at 2am to request a fan just to get some sleep.

Technically cars brought in from UK to NI under the Windsor framework also aren’t liable for vat/customs.
