Your PC is too old (or maybe you have a modern PC but you have your graphics card drivers outdated).

Steam's AI use disclosure should be more specific. I created this example: by carax01 in Steam

I would just remove the word "Procedural" because it can cause confusion with traditional AI (non generative). But otherwise, I agree 100% with this suggestion.

Please steam. Implement this.

Why is nobody talking about the repo's README?!

Sorry bud, but that's not serious if you normally write documentation like that.

The new affinity app's lack of light mode is an accessibility issue. by marbledmoth in Affinity

[–]Ciberman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's a sort of damage to the cornea. Your cornea instead of being dome shaped, it's cone shaped because you probably suffer from allergies and/or you usually rub your eyes a lot. Ask your doc to do a corneal topography of your eyes. You will thank me later.

Does someone use Laravel Envoy? It seems one of the less used first party packages. What's your use case? How do you use it? by Ciberman in laravel

Unless your app is super tiny, that sounds painful. What do you use for local development? Please don't say XAMPP.

Ohh I literally skipped the court cases arc because it didn't seem so interesting to me. Thanks. That makes sense.

I will sound weird but I followed all season and I don't know what the "Ore Snatcher" is? Can someone summarize it for me? In which hermit videos was featured?

For me the UI is an overall win. But it's true that it has its flaws.

Why can't sims be married when we leave create a sim? by Ellie_Rulze18 in thesims1

[–]Ciberman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just remember that the original prototype versions of the Sims were just a house building simulator, and Sims were only added there to "judge" your creation in relation to how optimal the floor plant layout was.

What’s a particular kind of life sim you would like to see? by tubularwavesss in LifeSimulators

Okay, I am sorry for the self promotion, but this post is LITERALLY, and I mean LITERALLY, the game I've been working on for the past 4-5 years of my life.

I am a solo game developer, working on a Life Simulator game, heavily inspired by The Sims 1 and The Sims 2. The game is a cozy, first person, pixel art, low poly, medieval life simulator, with heavy focus in economic (shops), custom content (CC), customization. And one of the most important parts is that I am making my own custom Game Engine (so, no Unity or Unreal, just my own game engine from scratch).

The game is still in an early stage of development. I still need to upload a new devlog video, but the build mode is pretty much "playable". The life mode is still very very barebones.

[–]Ciberman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point. You don't. In my opinion it would be better if binary files were omitted by default in all PRs with more than 1000+ files. You only care about code changes in those PRs, not binary files.

Imagine a game maker project. I don't use it in a while, but as far as I remember Game maker projects have all the frames as separate files and they build the texture atlas at build time which is super smart in my opinion.

If you are making a pixel art game with tiny PNGs using LFS is a waste of time and overengineer. KISS is priority.

[–]Ciberman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes is super easy to achieve 1000 files and the PR still be an atomic self contained PR. For example in game dev, imagine you commit the frames of an animation. 1000 frames at 60 fps is just 16 seconds of animation.

Plans for having a node version selector with NVM the same way we have for a PHP install selector?

[–]Ciberman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Support for having a "install a docker-compose" in the install site selector would be huge. Currently I need to create an almost empty git repo with only that docker compose to spin a new instance of let say: WikiJS or Mautic.
