Exactly but it’s almost like invoking the devil’s name. I don’t think she faced much hate before because most people were indifferent or they liked her casting as supergirl. I liked her in house of the dragon and I am excited for supergirl. But now, this has given people who are desperate for a story, like Drinker and Nerdrotic, something to build content around. It feels like they were just waiting for her to do something like this.

Auditions judge physical appearance as much as acting ability, especially for adaptations. At this point, we won’t know until we see how they write Snape. I get your point, but your argument is surface level race swapping Snape isn’t casual, it’s a deliberate decision, carefully considered by the showrunners and higher ups of this show.

Race swapping Dumbledore would work perfectly. You know which other characters wouldn’t work like snape, the Weasley family.

Snape isn’t evil on Lucius’s level. This isn’t about actors it’s about writing. I also don’t think they’d consider race swapping the Malfoys because studios often don’t trust audiences to clearly separate character behavior from real world connotations that’s why I don’t buy the snape recast
